It's primarily the TV coverage side of things. Remember when it was a fully professional series with paid drivers and it ran for 13 weekends from Friday to Sunday across 5 or 6 months and they ran on almost every bank holiday weekend too. It's nothing to do with holidays really, the whole schedule revolves around ITVs needs. If their production staff are in France or Russia, then they can't have a show.

Impressive. Especially considering the size of the CC; I had a man bend my ear a few years ago about how difficult Knockhill was for a large long wheelbase motor... clearly nobody has told young Mike!
HARD podium on the cards very possible I think... |

If he stays in the top 10, the reverse grid could really help Bushell

Interesting!! I remember being told the old volvos were quite good around Knock because the width meant they could ride the curbs easier- not sure how the CC will do for traction out the hair pin though.

Jordan on fire , he really needs wins otherwise it's game over
Turks himself didn't do too bad, crucially all his main rivals are behind him so far |

It may be surprising but recently AJ is quite often the best of all BMWs. Still qualifying and races ahead, this will be more crucial.

Probably that's the reason, nevertheless - maybe wrongly - I expected a bit more from Turks even despite his championship lead.

He's been driving as good as ever, but hasn't really been able to make progress through the field like others have, I imagine down to weight. |

WOW Jelley has real chances winning tomorrow front row RWD advantage and we know Cammish will screw it up
wonder if Uncle Dick will have a word with Andy Jordan... Turks ahead of Ingram and Sutton so good chances to outscore them !! |

Well that's an awkward front row...!
I think for the future they need to reduce the number of cars on track for qualifying here, can't imagine it's particularly safe to have cars stopped dead on track. Last edited by Evantra; 25 Aug 2018 at 15:16. |

Cammish on pole. Shows he has got it, just needs to hold it together in the race, but not going to be easy with 3 RWD cars around him, what an effort from Jelley, hope he has a clean race now

does anyone know what engine Jelley has ? is it same spec as WSR one ?
the best scenario for him as I can see he uses RWD advantage to pass Cammish and if he is lucky Cammish stays 2nd for a while and holds everyone else off allowing him to make a secure gap |

Surpised that neither PMR nor Motorbase weren't higher up.
Very close between the title protagonists, but for me Ingram once again impressed me the most, given that the Toyota isn't really the car to have round here. If it's going to be wet tomorrow than I think Sutton will win, given his track record in trickier conditions. A wet track will probably also mean an almighty power up down Duffus... (especially given the number of offs in the dry today!) |

Didn't see the qualifying but interesting to see the BMW ahead of the Subaru as I was expecting them to be in a similar position to last year around Knockhill. |

Yup - I spent the day sitting at Duffus, and there were quite a few people across all the formulae struggling to stay on the track as usual (most would learn their lesson after doing it once, but I think Fraser Robertson managed to get it wrong three laps in a row at one point). If the weather is as humpty as forecast tomorrow, then it could get messy. Incidentally, Team Hard were hard at work on Thompson's car as we left, while the other garages were all winding down for the night. Looked like a long night ahead for those guys. His car left a remarkable amount of oil on the track! |

Cammish on pole? Oh please Dan, for the love of God, DON'T MESS THIS UP! Jelley on the front row makes a nice change.

Knockhill is underwater, as usual. This will be a yellow-fest.

Bobby Thompson didn't even make it to the grid before the VW conked out.
Let's go Jelley! |

Great start by Cammish, but what a move by Turks at the hairpin.
