And in addition: http://www.dailysportscar.com/2016/1...-entrants.html
So far we have 9 in total: LMP1 1x Porsche (LM P1 winner) LMP2 1x Signatech-Alpine (LM P2 winner) 1x Jota-G Drive (ELMS P2 winner) 1x United autosport (ELMS P3 winner) GTE-Pro 1x Ford Chip Ganassi (LM GTE-Pro winner) GTE-Am 1x Scuderia Corse (LM GTE-Am winner) 1x TF Sport (GT3 Cup winner) GTE-Pro or GTE-Am 1x Aston Martin Beechdean (ELMS GTE winner) 1x JMW (ELMS GTE 2nd place) TBA 3x AsLMS: 1x P2, 1x P3 (both in LMP2) and 1x GT (in GTE-Am) 2x IMSA (at large): 1x P2 and 1x GTE-Am That makes 14 + Garage 56 (WR) if confirmed makes 15 + 32ish for the WEC runners leaving 13ish entries (60-/-15-/-32) to be divided by the committee. |

Probably. Keep in mind there'll be a bit of overlap as well so maybe there will be around 18 spots to be determined by the committee I think.

After today's news, 5 car LMP1 field ?
But could this make a Toyota third car more likely as they have a good chance to win? |

Whilst I have been watching WEC on the TV I haven't been on here for a while - are there any other manufacturers hinting that they might be interested in LMP1?

BMW is a possibility but only under the 2018 rules at the earliest. If those rules are still being drafted, then Audi's withdrawal surely strengthens BMW's hand when it comes to influencing those new regulations.

If there is heavy cost cutting then Peugeot maybe as well. Even less likely is Renault as again costs are too high for them

Are Jaguar now fully committed to FE?
There was rumour (in fact statement) a few years back that Tata owner (?) wanted to return to Le Mans... |

We'll see a record LMP2 entry this year so much is sure (and probably a record-low LMP1 one as well...).

Only 5 years old, but yes i think jaguar are spending their money on milk floats now but they have to switch floats half way through so that they can get to the end of the race

In the uk milk floats were the first electric vehicles seen by most people on the road they seem to have disappear now as most people buy their milk from supermarkets rather than have it delivered. when i was young 50 years ago you could actually run faster than these electric snails and they were always seen as a joke,

If you fancy a laugh jim try and find the video Andrew refers to (benny hill, ernie the fastest milk float in the west) ok it was set before electric milk floats took over from horse drawn floats but the demise of ernie at the hands of two ton ten from teddington will bring a lump to your throat

Last year, in a field of 59 cars (excluding Garage 56), there were 32 prototypes. This consisted of 9 LMP1s and 23 LMP2s.
Next year there will probably be 5 LMP1s, leaving space for 27 LMP2s. Will there be 27 new generation LMP2s racing next year? There were 10 WEC-entered LMP2s at LM last year, and the Michael Shank car from IMSA. Assuming similar numbers next year, will ELMS/IMSA fill the 16 car gap? So will we see: a full grid of 2017-spec LMP2s/DPis, a partial 2017 field and some grandfathered cars making up the numbers, or a smaller, 2017-only prototype field and a bigger GT field? |

United Autosports LMP2 entry confirmed. And they may do the full ELMS season as well.

I'd like to speculate wildly that Joest might do something in a privateer capacity; last week's Midweek Motorsport had Hindy mention more than once that he knew them to be recruiting, what for we do not know

Nic Minassian may put in an entry with his own team.
