I suppose Sutil's block on Hamilton was a little more subtle than at Canada, but seriously please can these two kiss and make up. Sulky sausages, both of them.

Hamilton said Sutil wasn't an issue in Q3, blamed himself, obviously disappointed in his own performance in qualifying. His opinion was simply that he hadn't performed well at all.

yeah, that's how i heard it as well. that yeah he was blocked, but he should have been faster on his first lap regardless and he shouldn't have needed to rely on that time to get him into q3.
it is a shame he's so hard on himself, but on the other hand far far more drivers in any series would have thrown their handbags at sutil and breezed over their own mistake. good on him for admitting he could have done better. hulkenberg either had a ferrari special engine map, or three weetabix for breakfast |

It was both things in my opinion. It all started with his mistake, when he ran wide he lost a great opportunity and damaged the floor (said Brawn). After that the car was slower and with time running out he just could hope for a clean run with no traffic that did not come as Sutil blocked him.
Anyway his record of 60+ consecutive Q3 appearances is an amazing feat, comparable to Vettel's record of 60+ consecutive races without a driver error induced retirement. It's a hard blow to Lewis' title hopes, but the race is tomorrow and it can be quite exciting with so many cars out of position and the possibility of rain. |

speaking of stats and records, this weekend could be interesting in that regard.
Talking about all these Vettel achievements before the race could bring him bad luck, but that would be good for the championship so it's worth the risk - No driver has won twice in a row this year. - No team has won twice in a row this year. - It's been Red Bull's 50th Pole Position as a constructor. - It could be RBR's 40th Win as a constructor. - Vettel with 31, is just one win away from Alonso's 32. - Vettel with 19 is just one Fastest Lap behind Alonso's 20. - Both Hamilton and Vettel have right now 54 podiums, the same as Lauda. - If Vettel (2038) leads the race from start to finish he will surpass Nigel's 2089 laps in the lead and move to 4th all time. - Vettel/Webber as team mates are with 13, just one 1-2 finish away from Senna/Prost who did it 14 times. - Rosberg could reach 500 career points by finishing 7th. - Mercedes needs just one more win as an engine supplier to reach 100 Last edited by jsTrecu; 7 Sep 2013 at 22:53. Reason: Added two stats about RBR's wins and poles as a constructor |

That's the interpretation as I heard it too. He wasn't upset with Sutil but more with himself. It didn't make a difference for him because his expectations of himself were higher.

Looks like the wet tyres will get a work out today. Should make things a bit interesting.
