Nit picking maybe, but the CLR was the UFO, the CLK-LM was the '98 car that they introduced at LM, one of the only races it didn't win...

Anyway, my pick.... hmmm
Toyota GT ONE or Porsche GT1-98

But I do like it.

It helps that it bears more than a passing resemblance to such as the R8C and the GT-One, of course.....

And as for the Sintura, yes, very nice. I have a small soft spot for it because I used to drive it all the time in SCGT!!

If we talk about cars according to GT1 rules, for me it's :
1 - Toyota GTOne
2 - Mercedes CLR
3 - Porsche GT1 98
4 - McLaren F1 GTR 97

Opps, party foul. You're right Try Hard, thanks. I guess the CLR was actually run according to GTP rules correct?

Still like the CLK-LM, but the GT1-EVO is a better in my opinion. I just had the image of the CLR in my brain.

In 1998, Toyota and Mercedes were GT1 and were LM-GTP in 1999. We can consider GT1 and LM-GTP were the same.

You can argue that for the Toyota. But the CLR and the CLK-LM were different cars.

The 98 CLK-LM (GT1)

99 CLR (LMGTP)

Post 1998 GT1 cars competed as LMGTPs.

The Elise GT1 that will compete at Sebring is competing as an LMGTP (LMP1) car.

Without any doubt it must be the Toyota GT1 IMHO.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the N0 29 car climbing up the order after various problems only for the gear clusters to fail. This being the '98 race. Boutsen, Kelleners and Geoff Lees were working 'magic' with this car. Such ashame it ended in tears.

What ever happened to Geoff Lees?

What about the Bitter GT1?

I know they only did about 10 laps between then at Silverstone in '98 and were based on the Lotus Elise GT1, but they looked georgeous in the metallic blue livery unblemished by sponsorship.

Failing this, my nomination would have to go to the shorttail McLaren F1 GTR

Yep, always liked the McLaren F1 GTR. Much prefer the Long Tail High Downforce model especially the EMKA entered machine in EMI colours. Great result for the Late Steve O'Rourke in the 1998 LM, bringing her in 4th O/A.

Turbocharged Honda NSX was a GT1 car, and NSX is always been one of the best looking sportscars.

Somehow, at Le Mans, with so much other exotic machinery, the NSX seemed to lose its appeal for me.....
