Fords are now 3rd and 4th. Not sure anyone is getting passed the Porsche today. Bleekemolen has a gap on the field as well.

Things continued as usual here, sadly redirect to DirecTV Now sign in didn't go anywhere so no pictures for me. Guess I'll catch the late replay maybe, but sounds like a good Porsche show without much challenge

20 second lead at the moment. IMSA doing its best WEC LMP1 impression right now.

Shaw and JH are having a seriously off day. Suggesting that Porsche swapped the cars. Are they watching the same race as everyone else?

Race got a lot closer in the second half. Ford is way faster than Porsche but can't get around. Olsen in the Pfaff car is very impressive staying with Farnbacher for the lead

I've only been half-watching, but where on the sliding scale of Porsche-throw-it-away/Ford-play-a-blinder does this race fall?
A hand for that GTD battle though, full congratulations to Pfaff for a fantastic on-the-line victory. Last edited by J Jay; 20 Jul 2019 at 21:53. |

At least the Porsche winning streak is broken. I like the mid-engine 911 GTE/GTLM cars, but it's time for a little variety before the new 911 comes in.
Also, isn't this the first win in GTE or GTLM for Ford in nearly a year? Ironically, Ford went on a then record tying win streak last year in IMSA. |

Just to keep with IMSA tradition they managed to miss the pass in a commercial break. It's like they know instinctively when to go.

Missed this race at work. Sounds like it was pretty boring until near the end. At least Porsche didn't win again. Instead they just win GTD

In my point of view it was never boring because of the strategie.

What it turned out to be was a proper endurance race. This might have been the feeling up to the first pitstop but the heat got to the Porsche tires for sure. And we have seen Ford do well in hotter conditions in the past. So the way the weather affected the cars plus the strategies that the teams put in place were allowed to play out in a proper endurance race style since we had no cautions. Ford outlasted Porsche on the day. Only slightly but it was enough. I think its a race of the year candidate. So I disagree that it was boring.

Completely agree with this sentiment. I'd go so far as to say that the first half of that race had the worst TV production of any sporting event I have ever seen! At one time there were replays of crashes from last year (???), and Hindy and Jeremy seemed to have no clue that was on screen and didn't comment on it. If I hadn't known better I would've thought that half the field crashed out in two minutes.
