The Michael / Ralph half / half helmet was to show that the bothers supported each other when Ralph was taking a hard time in the press for being rubbish, and Michael was taking a hard time for just walking the championship.
If you look at images you'll find the one michael is wearing has half Marloboro liverly on, and no sponsors on Ralphs half, Ralphs half had fedex / compaq on but no Marlboro so there was definatly more than one helmer available. If I remember right too, they where also testing at different tracks although I am not certain of this fact. Take a look Michaels helmet was right hand side red, left hand side yellow, ralphs was left red , right yellow so they matched up. |

Rupert Keegan's in gold with 3 white tapered arrows in a sort of _|_ pattern going back from the visor was pretty cool, cannot find an image tho'.
Roger Williamson's was excellent as well, white with a red horizontal stripe curling up and out at the back to taper to a point at the top of the visor. |

i thought that Half-half schumacher helmet thing was only for pre-season testing in early 2002 i think.
Schuberth didnt make different designs for them that early i dont think. It was just up to Ralf and Michael to change the sponsors. So it couldnt really be for Michael supporting because of walking away with championship, because it hadnt started then. |

Hard to go past Mansell (Marlboro/Ferrari) and Senna for helmet designs.

Would that be heat from a rooted engine?

I love Schueys throbbing, red helmet.......
The Suzuka '98 chrome dome was mighty fine, though...... |

COOLEST helmets
knowlesy, very sad indeed, and not cool in the slightest.
I prefer the JPS and Marly versions over (even the pristine) Williams version. |

Irvine's original helmet which was orange and green and had the IRA/Billy the King explanation at Suzuka 1993 - that was the coolest.
It later turned red and was rubbish. The jaguar one was good though. I repeat the call for pics of the Jerez 1997 Irvine helmet |

Not an F1 helmet or even a CART or F3000 Helmet, but i think former Superbike and 250cc champ John Kochinski's helmet is pretty snazzy.
