Final batch.
It really was fascinating seeing all the different AC cars. Perfect weather in a perfect English setting. |

Lovely set of pics, Paula, although I may move this thread eventually to the Classic Car forum, since it focuses mainly on road cars.
However, in respect of the competition cars, I note Andy Shepherd's monstrous racing 428 Coupe (#16). It's more of a silhouette car really, since, under the skin it is quite removed from the road car version. Built at great expense for the Super GT series, it didn't see many outings because Andy was still developing it to iron out the bugs. Unfortunately, there were never enough cars for the series which is currently defunct. The DB4, reg no. GFO 655, that you have photographed, is chassis 497, a car that sprinted at Goodwood occasionally in the late 90's. You mention DB4, reg no 3 BYR. This is chassis 598, a well known and much campaigned car, in both sprints and races, including at least two outings in the Spa 6 hours in this millennium. Hi John,
Many thanks. I enjoyed being there Fascinating information on the 428 and DB4's, thank you so much I wonder if H.W Motors still have the chassis number of the green car that they sold to Dad. Then we will see if the current white 3BYR is the same car. I will contact them and find out. Take care Paula Quote:

Morning John,
In order to see the actual dates when both cars were first registered, I did a DVLA enquiry on Dad's car and came up with this. The vehicle details for 3 BYR are: Date of Liability 01 05 2011 Date of First Registration 19 04 1961 Year of Manufacture 1961 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3995CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Unlicensed Vehicle Colour WHITE and then GFO 655 but it did not help as the registration number must have been changed. The vehicle details for GFO 655 are: Date of Liability 01 06 2012 Date of First Registration 24 03 1995 Year of Manufacture 1961 Cylinder Capacity (cc) 3700CC CO2 Emissions Not Available Fuel Type Petrol Export Marker Not Applicable Vehicle Status Licence Not Due Vehicle Colour GREEN Vehicle Type Approval |
