Oh, and BTW, I thought this race was a bore too, not because of the lack of cautions, but because of the lack of actual passing and racing. While the Bowyer, Busch, Stewart battle was pretty good, the rest was not interesting at all. Sonoma has actually worn out its welcome with me.

That said, I am looking forward to The Glen.

Ambrose has been in a NASCAR for over 5 years, 2 of which were spent driving anything but a Cup car, gaining great experience along the way. Simply sticking someone into a car for a one off because they drive well in a car on another continent with the wheel on the wrong side doesn't mean it would translate to success in a Cup car.

The problem with the likes of Said/Drissi/Simo is that their specialty is Trans Am, ultralight fiberglass bodied cars with near perfect weight balance, tons of downforce, huge brakes, supersoft tires, and race for about 45 minutes.

V8SC weigh around 3,000 lbs, have narrower tires than a Cup car, and race for hours at a time.

Now let me ask one more time, which one is more like NASCAR, TA or V8SC?

Pretty sure Owen ran a few races in ARCA or similar prior to the NW run, but now you have qualified, yes agree a bit more

Having never asked the first time, they both have similarities and differences, and I would be willing to bet that given good opportunity, a V8 driver could give a good go at it. But until they actually show up, there will be no more "ringers" and any TA driver (former or current) shall hereby be known as "road racing field fillers".
