Fielding with SWB?????

Scorpio should be in hopefully with three and Double R should expand.

Lack of news (or noise at all) from JTR worries, would be a shame to lose a FFord mainstay.

16 cars out in the first group test at Brands today. Carlin and Richardson absent. Thinking somewhere between 20-22 cars for the first round, unless Scorpio pop up out of nowhere, which I suspect is unlikely.

Jamie Caroline had a small shunt at the bottom of Paddock this morning but managed a few slow laps near the end of the day.

Interestingly we have three of last year's Australian F4 competitors on the grid this year- Zane Goddard (Double R), Harry Hayek (Jamun) and Luis Leeds (Arden).

I thought JTR signed the Danish kid that drove the Ginetta Juniors last year.

So is the series going to take the British Formula 4 title now the season has started? Seems bizarre they did not before Brands IF it was on the table.

Quinn is 8th in points after the first round, out of 19.

I believe that it is the plan for the championship to take the F4 name. I suspect that there may not have been enough time to have sorted this transfer in time for Brands as I'd assume that MSV would not have wanted to relinquish the F4 name until the F3 deal was done as dusted. As this was done quite close to their Snetterton races it may not have been possible to have sorted the legal niceties of the transfer before Brands.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was renamed F4 for Donington onwards.

Saturday evening's race- restarted for 8 minutes with everybody switching to wets- was fantastic but more proof of Jamie Caroline's dangerous and generally unacceptable driving. It's one thing driving dirty in Ginetta Juniors, but another thing entirely when it comes to single seaters. There's a very strong chance he could hurt somebody, or himself.

Some big contact in Sunday's first race, and a very near miss at the Old Hairpin, good to see both drivers walk away.

Maybe it's me but... Worried that BF4 needs a shake-up already.

17 cars at Oulton, Jamun seemingly out leaving even fewer teams, with the top Carlin/Fortec/Arden dominating in terms of entries.

Budgets too high? Interest too low? Racing good but that won't sustain bums in seats.

Ps: Mods title change is needed to British F4 2016 Thread please.

Okay if anyone is still interested in British F4 (or junior single-seater racing in general)... Anyone know if the proposed Scorpio and Richardson (I believe the latter is correct, may have been Falcon) entries for the second half of the year???

Falcon return and want three cars for 2017 (...) with Mexican Alexandra Mohnhaupt. Only for two rounds though.

Another Alexandra, Marinsecu has been testing with Richardson a lot so maybe a return for them.

So good to see small teams returning but seems a secondary issue (aside from supposedly silly budgets and an environment where arguably only the top teams can win a title), is that drivers only want to dip in and out, don't seem to see the value in a full campaign.

Anyway, more teams + drivers = Good news.

Have to say, that exclusion seems incredibly harsh on Florescu!

Yet another incident ultimately caused by the crashtastic and dangerous Jamie Caroline.

Fixed that for you

Caroline was being silly staying out and defending but he wasn't the cause, just an arguable catalyst - that was just dangerous driving from Dev this time, as much as you seem keen to bash Caroline.
