Swedish Brick has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Interesting comment on MRX facebook page today:

Another busy day building and finishing off the floor sections for
‪#‎007X‬ & ‪#‎008X‬. Yes I did say 008X...... Lucky number in certain cultures.....

NZSTfan should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Maybe 008 could be for Andrew Stroud judging by his comments on tv1 2nite.
I also had a look at the mrx fazbook and some of the mock ups look great inluding a vf commie a chrysler a nissan or two plus the lexus. I realise they are just drawings but they do look cool for sure. Especially the vf

Does Ssangyong make an eligible car for it?

I saw the Stroud piece too. Interesting stuff for sure.

so what does that make? 30 plus V8s (ST and NZV8) and growing, 20 new TR86s and possibly a new field of TRS.

that's a **** load of new cars in such trying times!

Where does the '20' number for the TR86's come from? Just curious, as I haven't seen it

Imagine what could be achieved if everyone wasn't trying to stab everyone else in the back.

Yeah I know, was just thinking its a pity that MSNZ couldn't help facilitate a reconciliation between the 2 classes, would give us a grid of close to 30 cars. Like the old days. Except without Julia Huziff.

That'd be a great spectacle. Just run the NZV8's with the Supertourers as a class within a class with their own championship. Would also mean that the Challenge Cup would get a decent boost in numbers as well without the 2 competing catagories.

Agree, but then that would mean thinking of the fans first, which would likely never happen I don't think. Just a pity that water under the bridge can't be seen as such.

A compliment STFan, I'll take it The VF Holden would be great......
I would be a lucky man if I got to build everyone of those AWS Concepts.

it would've been from the TRS site not sure if there are 20 TR86 buyers out there.. more likely 20 TR86 could be built and be ready to race this season.

One can lead a horse to water but you can not make it drink.

However in saying that I think that it is only a matter of time before we see the two classes running at the same meeting in the same way as we had the NZ Saloon Car Championship running with OSCA all those years ago where both classes ran separate races at the what you would now call the Tier One meetings in the South Island. The North Islanders such as Fahey, Coppins, Dawson, Riley etc with their Mustangs and Camaros competed in the NZ championship races and all the South Islanders with their creations in the OSCA races.

It worked then and it can work again and as it turned out in the end, it provided good entertaining motorsport.

Funny enough it eventually lead to each party recognising the strength of the other side and a number of Northern cars made their way south and a number of Northerners built OSCA cars.

And so peace was made and everyone moved on to live happily ever after until recent times which only goes to prove that those who do not learn from the lessons of history are doomed to repeat its failures in the future.

Seems to me that most on here would agree that it is time to move onwards and upwards. I have also noted with pleasure that the mud slinging seems to have ceased on here. I think that is great as it was beginning to get tiresome.
So I agree, and have in the past mentioned that the combination of the two classes just makes sense.
MSNZ please note what the loyal msport fans on here are talking about! You know it makes sense and would create something very unique.
On another note I sincerely hope that none of you or your friends and family have been adversely affected by today's quakes.
Have a safe weekend all and go the All Blacks!

Thanks for the update SB

I guess the Toyota 86 races will have reasonable numbers.
Looks like 13 86s are likely so far.

Any clues as to whom? I wonder if that will leave Bargs without a drive?

I believe that the new owner of the Tulloch car was at Hampton Downs on Tuesday having his first run in the car, a VERY happy man by all accounts.

Varney's chrome wonder will apparently be testing at Pukekohe tomorrow. Will be popping in briefly in the morning to snap a few pics.

From the Hampton Downs fb page
"What do you think of the new Hampton Downs hot laps car?
It’s the current NZV8 Jason Bargwanna Championship winning car!"
