Like anyone does any work over the winter. Your meeting will be on later, I can't see what the problem is.

Don't think the meeting can be on latter as it's made up of several championships which do not necessarily run together. If you have a few hours to spare try going through the calendar and find a free weekend for everyone.Frankly the place has been a disaster since it was designed.Tear the whole place down, build houses and have a real CART race once a year!

Have entry fees already been paid for this meeting? I'm presuming the probably have, so what happens with those? Does everyone get a refund? Or will it be a case of no refunds if the meeting is rescheduled? If it's the latter then people who race on often tight and limited budgets will be the ones to lose out. There's no two ways about it, it's a bad showing from Rockingham. A new circuit, I think the majority of people were prepared to put up with half finished facilities and a few glitches in its first season, but I think that they should manage to be a bit more professional about their second season. |

I find this situation appalling. It's bad news for the entrants and doesn't show the organisers in a professional light. |

Officially, its still Rockinghams first season. This will be its first full season of racing.
They NEED to sort out the track and its better to do it now, while its fine weather. |

Sorry, I still don't buy it. Last year was a full year for Rockingham. This year they should be raising their game. To be making more stupid mistakes with the tarmac surface is inexcusable. I agree it needs to be sorted out, but my gripe is that it should have been sorted out long ago.

How was last year a full year for Rockingham? It didn't open until may. So next month will be 12 months. Hence it didn't have a full season.

They've still had plenty long enough to sort out things like this. Do they expect people to have confidence in them? The way they're going they're going to lose people's goodwill. Will clubs return if they get messed around like this? Rockingham surely needs more than just Cart and Ascar, but right now seems to be heading towards alienating a lot of club racers. As Chris said, this should have been sorted out a long time ago.

So, last year, they had a full season - in fact, this year they may get *less* than a full season.. |

Guess what came through my letter box on saturday? An invitation to join the 'Rockingham Experience'!!! Still no race calendar or prices for CART. I need to know what other events they have scheduled other than car racing in order to work out when the meeting meant for this coming weekend might be held.

I'm so sorry to everyone that was supposed to be racing next weekend. It's so unfair.
Keep us informed when BARC meeting will be. I receive press releases from them but need to update my website asap on this postponed meeting. Cheers |

Right. With Rockingham well and truly swept under the carpet, there's just the small matter of a race at Snetterton. Here's a timetable:
Qualifying: Super Manic Minis - 9:00 T Cars - untimed, uncontrolled practice - 9:20 Cuper Soupé (Tomcats and Vectras) - 10:00 Zippy Formula - untimed practice - 10:20 Mighty Minis - timed chaos - 10:45 Porky Porche 924s - 11:05 Cup-er-Soupé (R5s, Clios, CRXs, and Protons) - 11:30 T-Bone Cars qualifying - 11:50 Zipped Formula qualifying - 12:15 BRDC Single Seater (just the one?) - 12:35 Lunch break until 13:45, then: Super Troupé - (Ts and Vs) 20 minutes, 1 red flag, and plenty of gravel Super Mighty Minis - 12 laps T Cars, race 1 - 10 laps Lodge Sports Porker 924s - 12 laps Zippy Formula, powered by Bungle - 12 laps Super Toupée - (the rest) - 20 mins Mighty Minis - 12 laps and a black/yellow quartered flag T Carnage - race 2 - 10 laps BRDC Single Seater championship - 12 laps Last edited by Chris Y; 22 Apr 2002 at 21:45. |

Chris started 11th and finished 11th. Not bad considering the dreadful stert to his season. Things are definitely looking up for him. Well done.

All in all, a great day Best of it had to be the Minis. I'm intrigued now, does anyone actually like Zip Fords????? Weird ugly things!!!!
It's alright for these people who could get home for 9:30. I've just got home. Redshoes, WoodyTJ and me did have a nice ten-tenths convoy going along the A11 |

We got home at about 2am
That was a fantastic Mini race! I was battling with loads of people, it was close, but clean, and I tried some interesting new lines, like all the way 'round Coram on the grass Also managed to get in my usual rallycross practice at Russell. It's becoming traditional now Well chuffed with 11th, although had I stood my ground a bit better at Sear, I could have finished inside the top 10, but things are definately looking up! |
