The Sigma P1 with a new engine didn't started the race after having issues during the practice. The one in P2 class was running the old V8 engine.

Any news about the next event and Marques's prototype? Sam Collins has written an article about this championship in Japanese Autosport - that's the sign that from technical point of view it's a splendid series.

I enjoy the race at Velopark. So old-school in the best meaning of this definition. So much better than WEC. I do not care how "premium" and "professional" championship is. True sport - that is what counts.

The last minutes and the finish were very tense and exciting. Ginetta could win the overall standings (in my opinion, for the first time). I wonder what happened to Motorcar Racing AJR…

Looks like that track is rough for suspension. And strange problems for the leading protos during final 20 minutes. Would be interesting to find out.

This situation is typical for South American racetracks that do not qualify for first class. The situation is the same in Argentina. At the same time, the Velopark circuit was opened 12 years ago.

Well, it's way better than nothing at all. Some of these tracks have splendid altitude changes, what new tilkedroms absolutely lack of. |

Another event today. Unfortunately, heavy rain and safety car racing.

There were 4 different winners in 4 races. Three AJR prototypes: #5 (Interlagos) #113 (Curitiba) and #175 (Velopark) and one Mercedes GT3 (Goiânia). Unfortunately, the rain ruined 2nd half of the race today.

TMC M1
Tarso Marques tested his “batmóvel” this week around Autódromo Internacional de Curitiba. He personally tested his car, which received numerous updates, and light was shed on many elements. For example, this prototype is built around a carbon monocoque chassis and is equipped with biturbo V6 engine with units of the Brazilian production. The aerodynamic body kit has also changed significantly: the diffuser has increased (compared to other prototypes), and the DRS system is mounted on the rear wing and many elements have also changed. So, Brazilian prototypes are progressing. Thanks for observations to the author of this thread. |

Any reason why he can’t? Would be good to see it driven in anger, then we can see what we can expect from it in the future

I don't know for sure, but I hope they can make their debut in three weeks at Santa Cruz Do Sul. In my opinion, Tarso is still developing the prototype, because it has changed a lot. And the tests in Curitiba were another shakedown. On the other hand, there were precedents when a new prototype debuted in one of the last races (Sigma).

Even if it doesn't make it's debut, it gives us something to look forward to to next year. No point putting it out there if it's not ready. Better to get all the teething problems out of the way in testing away from the public eye. But we'll see. Either way, it will be good to see it in action whether it's next month or next year

One of the main Brazilian team named Giaffone Racing makes their own GT car for upcoming season of endurance racing in Brazil. Here we have few details about it.
It’s a GT car based on tubular frame, which is made by Giaffone. It’s equipped with NA V8 engine (about 492 hp) and 6-speed gearbox with paddle shift. Breaking system - AP Racing, engine control unit - Bosch. Also, there are ABS and traction control. Suspension is represented by adjustable dumpers. Weight - 1150 kg. Not part of the championship, but the Mil Milhas is happening today.
It will run for 1000 miles or 11h, whichever comes first. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXJL4RJEDxI |

This is an offtop, but quite an interesting car. Here we see a classic Volkswagen Beetle, but this is a kind of silhouette prototype based on the Spyder. This car was made by racing driver and designer Rodrigo Bonora. The engine and transmission are the same as those commonly used in the Spyder: a VW AP (220 hp) coupled to a Gol transmission. The body is made in collaboration with MC Tubarão. Bonora notes the convenience and pace of the car with the new body, despite the increased weight (20 kg). Beetle hit the track this weekend at Guapore, where Summer Race marked opening of new racing season at Rio Grande do Sul.
