There were few food/drink stalls and indeed toilets to keep the masses fed, watered & the other thing It was almost a self-fulfilling prophecy, preparing for a poor crowd and a poor crowd came.. |

The crowd was as sparse as I'd seen it on the weekend. We will never know the crowd numbers for the weekend just gone considering they threw the gates open on Friday. And without school kids, Friday would have been a disaster as well.

This is what happens when one team bolts away from the field. No, it's not the fault of RBRA, but the fault of the other contenders that appeared to have no level of competitive consistency.
A hard summary maybe, but a harsh reality which has harsh commercial effects. The only way to improve the number of competitive entrants is to lock down the category specification. Everytime engineering changes are brought to the category, the cashed up engineering based innovators bolt away again. Look at F1, bringing new technical guides for 2017, which no fans asked for, voted in by MB (and its aligning customers) and Ferrari (and its aligning customers), which are merely a smokescreen to allow the cashed up mega factory teams to assert their engineering might to maintain the gap they desire. V8SC...have they lost their way? |

Speedcafe's take
There is scuttlebutt and insinuations that this will replace the street race? Surely thats not right? |

Equally, I suspect that an event at Tailem Bend might struggle to get corporate support within SA due to the strength of the street race and a great stadium in Adelaide. How many fans would venture out from Adelaide for more than one day is a concern too. They'll have a few obstacles to overcome for the event to work commercially but they're building a huge facility so will be used to dealing with obstacles. |

Clipsal has a contract to 2021
To have any hope of being a replacement TB would need to show they can draw a crowd |

Blanchard To Decide On Driving Future At Enduros
From the article, it kinda sounds like 2017 is Mr Blanchard's last as a full time pilot... |

Heard rumours that Toyota are potentially coming to Supercars next year or 2019 they're currently a minor sponsor with one of the smaller teams on the grid who are looking at expanding their number of entries through there forklift company

There would be a difference between Toyota Material Handling and Toyota Motor Company entering Supercars, but either way, cool!

Car effort there local arm has apparently sent a request to the parent company seeking permission for the program it seems like the car would be based off the Camry and I've also heard that KIA are close to striking a deal with Walkinshaw for next year whilst Alfa may be coming GRM's way these are only rumours but if these happen it'll be a huge boost for the sport Last edited by PS2244; 30 Jan 2017 at 02:33. |

Team 18 is not even a car constructor, I find this scenario very high on the unlikely scale.

There already sponsoring them and they're only a customer because last year was they're first year by themselves not racing under someone's banner i would expect that could change It seems like it could happen with gen 2 there could be a huge line for the new commodores they might take it an oppotunity to leave and they don't want to be a single car team for much longer but it's still rumours at the end of the day nothing's official yet

If Team 18 had two cars, and the second car was #25, would they change their name to "Team 18 and 25" or "Team 43"?

TMH is not TMCA.
Different marketing departments, different agendas. Mr Schwerkolt has already previously stated that they'll remain a single-car team in Supercars in the forseeable future. Besides, they're not in anyway set up to start knocking out bodypanels of their own, let alone partake in engine development from scratch. Plug-and-play Triple Eight customer gig works for them, as it does for Tekno. There won't be a huge line-up for new Commodores. They can hang the new panels off their existing chassis, along with the new V6TT engine. |
