true that that people will follow the 'big names' rather than theother guys, but i surpose it is the same as the melbourne cup you are going to pick a favourite over a horse that is 100-1.the only problem i have is the support catergories don't get much coverage or not the amount they deserve, they have some of the best racing of the weekend, well atleast the Aussie Racing Cars and the Historics do,the utes have some pretty good races IMO. |

I really don't think the launch is designed to bring in new fans. Information may be revealed at the launch, which may be used to entice new fans, but I doubt that there was anyone there on Thursday (apart from possibly some of the suits) who couldn't name all 6 drivers present, who they drive for and roughly how they are going in the championship this year. In order to want to attend this sort of event, you would already have some interest - and probably a particular team(s)/driver(s) that you already support.

Not totally true. I was able to bring 5 people to the launch, 3 who had not been to the Clipsal before. And guess what, all 5 went out and brought tickets after the launch.
No, they weren't suits but people interested to see what all the hype was about . And they didn't know all the drivers either, but now they do. As was said before, this is more than a race but an event. With free tickets to the launch it's an ideal way to bring in new people to the sport. |

OK. I don't like being wrong, but.... well done! I obviously hadn't thought of doing that - next year I'll have to find some Clipsal virgins to drag along!

Along the following lines......
"Want to see the V8's at the Grand Prix" then a clip from last years commercial of the cleaner at the Albert Park track, "Not here mate"........"Want to see the V8's, come to Adelaide for the Clipsal 500 - BE THERE". Or something very similar, basically having a go at Vic & the AGP for not having the V8's. Just typical interstate rivalry, good clean fun!!!!!!!! |

victoria really dosnt care about them, but Sa see vic as their biggest rival go back a couple of weeks and see the Soccer match that occurred still bitter about us knocking of the GP |
