Livery is clearly a slight rework of last year. Which was not bad.
As to the 2022 car. I am reading elsewhere that this is just a rendering and it said to be somewhere between the FIA model and whatever the Haas will eventually look like. So while the final car will probably not look radically different than this, don't mistake this for the final car. Apparently it has a number of discrepancies such as no DRS actuation and I have seen comments that the front wing endplates may not be legal. Richard |

The livery looks like something from an old Macleans toothpaste livery and the curves make it looks like a toothpaste bottle too.
Still nice to finally see what one car looks like under the new rules |

it looks less glossy/shiny which i like. sidepods are huge but nicely sculpted back. my first impression is that i like the shape. |

Haas has announced that they will be skipping any major updates to this year's livery and instead will be focusing on next year.

Most teams only mildly update their livery year to year unless a major sponsorship change
Look at redbull |

RBR - I think there is a car somewhere in that dark room.

have gotten pretty used to their livery but i still like it so no issue there for me.
the front nose (if thats its final version) is massively improved look wise imo. hopefully it is and also an indicator of the trend...front of these cars looks more like what i think an open wheel car should look like. |

this deal with Oracle also sounds substantial.
new era (well expanding battlefield at least) of F1 data simulation, AI, and machine learning? curious how this will work under the budget cap because presumably F1 cant tell Oracle how much or little they can spend on RB? plus Newey like boats! https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/o...onsor/8021900/ Last edited by chillibowl; 9 Feb 2022 at 17:31. On seeing the RB the first thing that struck me was how small the sidepod intakes are on the Haas by comparison. Of course as the Haas was a livery launch they may not have been representative of the Haas we see on track.

It pretty much is the FIA example car. The fake Haas is probably more like the real 2022 car than what RB showed today. This was a PR event to showcase the Oracle sponsorship.
I think people were maybe expecting something different than the Haas launch. But it may very well be the template for all of the cars until we see the real deals at the first test. Richard |

I would say that Haas did their launch better because they promised livery and showed livery on a 2022 rendering that was not exactly like the FIA car. So Haas over delivered slightly by the unexpected 2022 car. RBR said it was the reveal of the 2022 car and instead showed effectively a FIA show car with their livery. So RBR under delivered.

I tweaked the picture of the car's underside in Photoshop and it really shows what is going on with the underwing.

From the RB launch:
The new car was launched in what Horner admitted was a form that did not reveal all its technical secrets. "When we get to the first race, the car is not going to look very much like this," he said. |

Respected Technical journo Craig Scarborough highlighted how much of a mock up the RB is in what he refers to as an honest technical analysis of what RB showed. Basically it seems it was an FIA concept car dressed with the livery. Nothing more than a livery launch for Oracle. At the end of the day teams want to keep their secrets just that until the latest moment possible. Its not a new practice and we should expect it, especially with so much new this year. from: https://twitter.com/ScarbsTech/statu...64640710258696 |
