when you have 8-10 car grid , and 3 cars break done after or in practise , very boring race for the people that have paid entry to the circuit and fuel , food etc then to see to 5 cars running around , at least with a few smaller cars the spectators get to watch a race.
And yes the frailty of the F1 cars is alarming, and before anyone shoots me down I am more than aware of the complexitys of running one.

Hello too! I also think that the BOSS race scene should be very special and therefore only for the big and powerful Big Open Single Seater cars. That's what the organisers want to have and the spectators want to see. I am definitely not a friend of ideas like 'you can fit your F3 car with bigger wheels/tyres and no air restrictor and then you have a BOSS car or other crazy ideas like that (yes, these ideas are real). Ok, I can here only speak for the BOSS GP* series, we will be there for all interested, but cars, definitely only for the real big ones!

BOSS GP Series 2010

...and before I forget! We will also not have so many classes that nearly every type of BOSS car has their own. At the end we would come in a situation (for example) with a own class for World Series by Renault, World Series by Nissan (possibly with weight rules for or against success), F3000, a class for F1 cars in original livery, etc. etc. We want also not always the same discussions after every race (as we had in EuroBOSS) why this or this not happened, why a driver is only on the 3rd position and not on 1st and so on! First of all we want to have fun and spectacular and close races and that's all for the best value for money we can offer. Go out, enjoy this weekend, enjoy your race and the fastest driver of the two classes will be the winners.

Christian.

You say that 5 of 7 races are confirmed. Are you able to supply dates of the first meeting ?

Thanks

That's right, but I will publish it here first when all 7 dates are confirmed!
Why you not ask one of the (possible) drivers, because all of them have it received with our latest 'Inside' newsletter.

So this is the new thread for 2010. Have you considered Oulton Park for a UK round Christian? Agreat circuit and not far from home.

It's not only a new thread it is also a new series!
Unfortunately no possibility for a BOSS GP race at Oulton Park in 2010. The circuit has also for BOSS cars not the correct track licence with FIA Grade 3, because we need FIA Grade 2.

Uk; only 3 circuits have FIA Grade 2 or higher; Silverstone, Brands and Snetterton.

Snetterton is still FIA Grade 3. I've discussed it directly with the MSVR last week. Possibly we all had thought it is Grade 2 and nobody had really checked it in 2007 for the EuroBOSS race...

A 'normal' Donington circuit is also Grade 2 or higher.

Christian "normal" Donington doesn't exist so you can scratch that from your list! The Snetterton race was approved by the MSA so they had no problem to have a race there? I know because I had a beer with the man who approves these things shortly before that weekend.

Re Snett - part of the planned upgrade is to take it to grade 2 status - when ever that will be completed ! Snett hosts many LPM1 cars etc testing so could MSA allow BOSS to run ?

Possibly! We race under FIA safety rules and that means, among other things, that we need for our races a FIA Grade 2 track. I see a discrepancy if we need FIA Grade 2 because of the regulations and MSA would possibly say ok!? Therefore my clear position and decision for the first BOSS GP season 2010, only real FIA Grade 2 circuits or better (Brands Hatch Indy/GP, Silverstone or Donington if it's ready in time)!

After I receive many questions about our race dates (the drivers already have it since mid-december) I will probably publish the confirmed events at the end of this week exclusively here at 10/10ths.

I say it with your own words, 'like they have it at FIA F1 races'! FIA F1, GT1 and WTCC events have their own very special medical regulations. It is not for all events under FIA sporting, technical and safety regulations always necessary that a medical helicopter must be there! I give you an example.

For a race meeting with the 'BOSS GP' series you need (or better the circuit/organiser):
- a chief medical officer
- minimum of two medical intervention cars, one must be able to follow the first lap
- extrication team
- temporary medical centre or better
- minimum of two ambulance (with or without doctor)
- extra medical service for the public

Things like helicopter, doctor on foot, extra doctor/paramedic for the pitlane, specialists team for the medical centre, etc. are recommended and possible but not mandatory!

Hope I could help you with my little explanation...

I think some of you are confusing the FIA and MSA. I may be wrong but I don't think the MSA have the power to issue a FIA circuit licence, I think only the FIA can do that.

If it will happen re: upgrade. Snett has serious noise issue probs. No noisy testing allowed there at all at present.

I think it is not the best and most friendly way of you to show us in your first-ever 10/10ths post (and then in the 'BOSS GP' thread) only a weblink of another race series...

In my opinion it is not really important which website is available at first or which co-ordinator is doing the most phone calls (definitely not always a good idea). At the first race meeting (latest after the 2nd event) we will see who made the better work over the winter month, who has the better concept and who has offered the teams/drivers, sponsors, organisers and so at the end also the spectators the best package in total! That's our main aim!

The drivers need now facts for their season planning and not a lot of promises and 'maybe yes' or 'maybe no' answers and for all further questions they can ask and they will receive as soon as possible a precise answer.

I have to change the calendar publishing date to next Friday/Saturday, sorry.

btw. nearly all possible drivers and teams have already since mid-December a preview link for the BOSS GP website where they can see how it will look.

Agreed. Especially as the original post was "tongue in cheek" hence the smiley.
