i take it its a carlow event then. by the way surely there is a closing date for entries for the sprint as well. most well organised events have closing dates for enteries. if you read rules and regs they give reasons why there is a closing date. sounds like sour grapes because someone will be charged extra for not entering on time.

we all know and understand that so why time and time again do people leave it to last minute to put their entry in and then moan and groan about late entry fee. if they have been doing rallycross for years and know the rules and regs how many more years will they have to do it before it sinks in.

example of usage in excel http://www.rallycross.ie/grids.jpg
Template can take you 1 hour to do, just paste the data in and it automatically grids people... |

to be honest michael i havent a clue what ur trying to say there... and also i think you dont understand what we are saying... there is no need for fancy calculations for grids... its as easy to write them out... the difficult bit is trying to fit in people at 9.30 in the morning before the first heat at maybe 10.30. example would be if i was to be a late entry... well im in a super car and they are normally first out after practice so that would leave very little time to try and fit me into a grid and re publish them and distribute them etc etc etc
lads.. bottom line... no excuse for rallycross regulars sending in late entires.. i had my entry in for this weekend before the last event.. simple.. download.. fill in.. laser card... arrive and drive.. no hassle and no late entry penalties.. |

I do understand what your saying, however what im saying is that with a grid template setup you can add people to the spreadsheet and it will calculate grids automatically.
I do get that there isnt really an excuse for late entry, but i do think that the late entry dates do need to be closer to the event. I mean like we are in the 21st century, more use of technology can reduce problems and Save time. The electronic entry system was a welcome introduction, the CCTV system clarified alot in terms of accidents and incidents. Look how well the electronic timing works. |
