Marco Andretti continued to set the pace with provisional pole and Honda continue to dominate Qualifying. Only one Chevrolet powered car will be contesting the Fast 9 shoot out tomorrow and that's rookie Rinus VeeKay's. He is driving for Ed Carpenter Racing.
Last year's pole sitter and winner Simon Pagenaud, will start from 25th place. Fellow Penske team mates Josef Newgarden will start 13th, 2018 winner Will Power and former three time winner Helio Castroneves, will start is 22nd and 28th. |

Well, good for Marco.
Only 21 pole winners have won the race, with Simon doing it the last (2019), so it would seem the numbers are against him, BUT he's got one of the best cars in the field this month. Working backwards Helio in 2009: Helio, Dixon, Hornish, Rice, Luyendyk, Mears (3), Little Al, Rutherford (2), Bobby Unser, Al Unser, Parnelli Jones, Flaherty, Vukovich, Roberts, Arnold, Milton & Murphy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o..._pole_position Edit - Looks like Rose is an (*) for co-driving win from another's pole. Have to admit I thought Dixon would take pole after his aborted attempt on Saturday based on the fact Ganassi have been dominant all season long but Andretti Autosport are FAST. Curious to see how the racing is next weekend, hope it’s not as hard to pass as people seem to be suggesting.
