John Atkinson is the other part of AGG and is no relation to the rally family. Its a shame they are not related because that would be very handy indeed. While discussing this topic I cant not comment on the babilings of Mr Guess The Result, it seems that WPS must have somewhere along the line done something considerably bad enough to him that has encouraged him to spitefully comment on the team at any oppitunity. Please tell us, Did we not roll out the Red Carpet for you to slink around in our Pits? Was it because not everybody considers you the guru you wish people to see you as? Or maybe you are just bitter for the hell of it and enjoy verbally(anonymously) bashing those that are having a go but not in the manner you prefer??
As for the inuendo regarding sponsorship and acr livery I am sure the reasons will be very clear by the end of the week, and with regards to the whining about TV coverage for other teams," Good luck to them" I dont recall us whinging about what they get exposure wise and perhaps if you consider that we are not winning races at the moment(I wont refer to the track you mentionedin reference to our pit position as that implied that it is a looser track and very unkind on your part) we manage to promote ourselves fairly well. Make no mistake though

I hope so, a mate of a mate works for wps and he says they have a state of the art work shop, all the bits and bobs to be successful. Maybe its old cars letting them down. I would like to see 2 news BAs with SBR power next year. Would be just what they need to race at the front Iam sure.

Team Kiwi - been done, PR was in the studio 3 weeks ago.

Super Cheap - would have to bounce one of the endless Murphy pieces

- pretty heavy coverage on the China trip, maybe when they start racing in the top 5 or having plenty of crashes.

HPDC - week before last. Bimbet from 10 stalked the team all weekend and even sucked a result out of them. Gotta say John Kelly was not the best interviewee, might be a nice guy but doesn't seem to crave the limelight...

CPR has been done to death lately

DJR has been done

HRT done..

SBR - yawn... not again..

and on it goes...

The only ones I can't recall in recent memory are:
LMS (other than the grate incident)
Team Dynamic (nothing to show)
Longhurst Racing?? (waiting big announcement I assume)
Toll - single car, effectively CPR
And… PMM

So maybe a story on PMM with Paul wearing his "weekday" clothes showing us around Dad's winery is to come.. Can't wait!

Seriously, while I truly appreciate 10 and all the motorsport coverage they bring I would love them to get a regular technical session on the show - the the new Porsche Cup car, workshop type stories and drop one of the 3 V8 segments.

FWIW I actually thought the Gore story was ok.

Not sure if you are a student of history of this sport Bazil, but Mr Tuckey's tomes on the Great Race your team aspires to win regularly referred to the lesserlight teams in the Group C and Group A eras as belonging to the 'Winton' end of pitlane. It was a term of endearment, and indeed a nose tweak... apologies if you didnt see the significance of same...

As for the rest of your assertions... take any view you like, but fundamentally the racing operation currently produces more noise than results. It has been this way since the sponsorship first appeared at Indy 2 years ago.

I am sorry if I do not buy into the marketing hype. Actually I am not sorry, I am proud to have an opinion, whether it is in concert with the employee of that organisation or not does not change my view.

I am however impressed at the size of the WPS logo in the QR infield this year. A 100m-wide WPS logo viewable from all parts of the track, and in television coverage range at all times is no mean feat... and with the branding around the circuit, anyone would think WPS had actually bought the place....

I think Mr GTRMagic has been pretty fair with his assessment of the WPS operation. I think its been a great marketing exercise by Mr Gore but a poor excuse for a sporting team. I think people will forgive you if your arrogant when you win, but a more 'sporting' approach is required when you don’t have the runs on the board.

Most champions in any sport have one common quality - humility.

Having said all that I like them around it makes me realise how good the real champions are.

Can't recall any humility being displayed by any other teams. Just because Gore has the balls to say what he thinks doesn't mean he is right or wrong but it does show the nature of the beast. Love him of hate him - and by extension his team - he has a rightful place in the paddock and his opinions are as valuable as any. I would suggest there are much more arrogant people in the sport even if their public persona displays "humility"...

Is their performance upto scratch, in isolation no. Are there other teams who are performing worse - hell yes. Do I think I would enjoy a beer with Gore .... no more of less than being locked in a room with TC

Yes you are correct our performance to date doesn't match our trash talking but when you set the bar high you sometimes hurt yourself on the way to success. Not sure what the requirments are to be considered a student of history of this sport but being a pit brat growing up in places like Amaroo, Catalina,Warick Farm,Surfers Paradise and all the other fine race tracks around the country I would have thought that would entitle me to an opinion as well. The difference being that I dont set out to bag anyone just for the hell of it and and I dont Guess The Result. As for results thus far we have had the following, 1 Top Ten shoot out, 3 top ten race results including a 4th and 1st. Not the record of Stonys or Hrt yet but not to bad for our 1st one and a half seasons. We also have enjoyed 2 podiums and 4 top 5 results with our Champcar team in its maiden year out of only 7 rounds so far. When we do win the beer will flow and all will be welcome even those that guess....

I don't think gorey is that bad.....would rather have someone up front than towing the PR line all the time...But at the end of the day he is the one willing and able to put his money where his mouth is...you may not like it but he is doing what we wish we could do...and thats have a race team.Just my opinion

Were they good cars when they were brand new??????
The heavy shunts (before & after WPS aquired them ) can't have helped.
It would be interesting to see what the team could do with a couple of SBR chassis and engines.
