You're right. In that case I should be free that weekend I hope the HSCC are running it as a three-day meeting again.

Alan Green should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As HairyDJ has pointed out, Britcar 24 has now moved a week earlier 21-23 Sept (confirmed by Britcar commentator).

Just a heads up as well so people don't get too confused (which they are doing!):
- Donington in July - 6hrs European Le Mans Series round (Le Mans cars up to LMP2, F.Le Mans & GTs)
- Silverstone in August - 1000km (6hrs) World Endurance Championship round (what was Intercontinental Le Man Series last year, with the full set of Le Mans cars including the works LMP1 Audis / Peugeots / Toyotas / ??? , plus LMP2 & GTs)

Blast you, Britcar, back to clashing with Shelsley. LMS @ Donington and Silverstone is better news.

Wonder what the thinking is behind having this on Saturday? Presumably it'll be the usual 3 days meaning working marshals will need to get Thursday and Friday off ahead of the bank holiday week-end. Numbers tend to be very low for a Friday so I imagine Thursday may be a little desperate.

Because they are all staged to benefit from the warm glow of publicity that is the British GP. If you can persuade BCE to move the British GP to an August or Late July date, then I am sure the other events will follow.

Good thinking, I forgot that. Evening race into the darkness, do we suspect? Hopefully without the biblical rainstorm we endured last time they did that!

As the costs, in the UK, of travelling to meetings are so high and still escalating the number I shall be attending in 2012 will have to be reduced by two thirds. But the 750MC remain a high priority as do any meetings with Legends.

All 6 hour WEC races will start at 1530 locally, so finishing in dusk/dark.

2005 was a wet race, but the 2004 event had a glorious sunset, so you never know!

yes agreed its probably the race organisers perceiving when the public is most likely to be available + the gp but honestly, the amount of competition there is around that time, sometimes i dont know what event to pick!, itd take me about 6/7 years to alternate all the different meetings if i wanted to do them all... this year i think there was 4 barc events alone from the second weekend of july?! wth

That's looking extremely blank, Roy. Is that because there was something and I can't see it or is it just a holding page until there is any?

Britcar 24 Hour Ltd. and Silverstone Circuits Ltd. are awaiting a meeting and final decision from Whittlebury Village Parish council on the 19th January 2012 to gain thier approval for the continuation of the event at Silverstone in 2012. Due to the extraordinary duration and noise levels of this event, the Promoters and the venue obtain permission from the local parish councils prior to giving the event the go ahead.
Permission has been granted by Silverstone Parish Council and we look forward to receiving the decision from Whittlebury Parsh Council in the new year before we announce the date for the 2012 Britcar 24hrs.

i've decided already that i'm going to be more selective with dates for 2012.
from the previous 2 seasons i feel the financial side out weighted the quality of racing.
and will be not looking to upgrade at further meetings and enjoy the life as an i/o.

I would think flying from Melbourne would add quite a bit to the costs.....
