They are AWESOME! And pictures don't do them justice in any way. Especially the Bimmers are soooo ridiculously low and sexy in person. And the noise from the Chrysler is just pure unadulterated evil!

Fourty of those beasts on track should be something for the ages!! I'm talking "tell-your-grandchildren-about-it" awesome. Now if they only had full grandstands it would be perfect.

Well, looks like Reiter is involved in a new GT3-project, building Camaros for a debut in mid-2011. (See here and here )

I'd think that makes the Hyundai/Superstars story a lot less likely.

Indeed the series looks to be shaping up well for next season. Does anyone know if there will be live tv coverage in the UK anywhere? Eurosport or Motors TV perhaps?

Gow just launched his own new ruleset and as I see it, stability is something he values greatly, so by the time Gow could be influenced by the Superstars series in the creation of a new ruleset, Superstars has probably already crashed and burned. (Which is unfortunately something that I fully expect to see within a few years, but it'll be a wild ride until then )

Nice find. I prefer to see a Hyundai Superstar instead of another GT3.
On the other hand. No possibility they develop this Camaro for Superstars?

Mostly because I'm a pessimist and explosive growth is more often than not unsustainable...

Just from the changes in the appearance of the current cars compared to those from two or three years ago, I'd think that the costs might have gone up quite a bit recently, and I fail to see a lot of return on investment with the series usually racing in front of empty grandstands.

I think what Superstars major issue right now is marketing. If they want to have an international series they need to push it on an international scale, similar to the DTM, have more international drivers, teams and cars, while staying true to it's roots; Italy of course. If they avoid the mistakes of the ITCC then it could work.

Meanwhile, there needs to be stability in production touring car regulations world wide. The best solution I see is two classes, one for small cars, one for big cars.

Lexus set to join record Superstars grid

Lexus is set to become the tenth manufacturer represented on the Superstars grid for 2011. The team MN Lexus Racing has announced plans to enter a pair of Lexus IS-F in the championship this year.
The Italian series is set for a record season with 43 entered drivers from 19 teams in cars from Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Jaguar, Maserati, Mercedes, Porsche and most recently Lexus.

The championship has attracted a number of new teams as well such as former GP2 team Campos Racing, that are yet to confirm which car to run, and Racing Experience, running Maserati's.

The new Lexus team has not yet revealed drivers for their two cars.

43? 43? sorry..................43??????

If we see 43 cars on the grid, it is ridiculously awesome. As such, I think the series needs to really promote itself to gain a wider motorsport presence, because it clearly deserves it. For now at least, because that phenomenal number can't last forever.

pay attention:the entry list counts 43 cars (for now) but this number is for the entire 2011 season;isn't sure that we'll se 43 cars at every track. In 2010 for example we saw varoious numbers at every round:26 cars at monza,23 cars at portimao,33 cars at vallelunga,16 cars at kyalami (but what a races!!) etc.
Obviously,I hope to see the biggest number of cars possible at every round. The 2010 season was amazing, and I hope to see a 2011 season better than the previous

I suspect there may well be less cars at Donington as for them its an overseas round. A shame, but probably inevitable.
