Once in Oberon you can use the easy way along O'Connell Road through to the Great Western Highway at the traffic jam at Kelso or take the O'Connell/ Lagoon/Vale and Lloyds Road way which will bring you out right at the track at Murray's Corner. Suggest you have a look at Google Maps to satisfy yourself. No matter which way you go remember there will be plenty of traffic about and the usual high Police presence. |

Well worth having screens, as it helps to keep up to date, but dont get suckered into watching the screens while action happens in front of you also like a lot of track the commentary is found on an fm radio station, however there are on course commentators so commentary doesnt always match the big screen Last edited by peckstar; 28 Jan 2015 at 03:27. |

In 2006 when I went and it was very good having a shady guaranteed seat. We stayed in a home stay so not having to carry chairs was great and as it was hot as hell avoiding the sunburn was most welcome. Last year we hired a campervan and stayed in the pits campground with friends so didn't bother with the stand seats. I still think if you are doing Bathurst camping at the track gives you the full experience, you miss the atmosphere and party at night not staying at the track.

My father flew a number of charter flights to Bathurst in the 80's.
They always flew into Cowra and made that the base camp for the weekend driving up to the Bathurst each day. The group always booked the charter flight in September, so had to take what accommodation was available. A mate did Bathurst a few years ago and stayed at Orange. Another couple of Bathurst regulars always get a B&B near Cowra. |

Looks like I can only purchase 2 or 3 day corporate tickets, which I wont pay the prices for.
So looks like the grandstand ticket have to be the base for the trip. I assume as everyone has said, its one of the best ways to see the race on sunday providing we look at all areas of the circuit on both the Friday and Saturday ??? Has anyone watched from the Undercover Grandstand #12 at the end of the main straight and pit lane? Any Good or other recommendations ??? Should we not purchase Grandstand Tickets What options do we have? watch from the fence at all parts of the track or is that not an option at all ??? |

on the link for "the engine room" it suggest one day tickets will be available just not yet
I have sat in front of the mountain straight grandstand. Its a reasonable spot but its a bit remote as you have to cross a spectator bridge to get there. It also lacks (or reduces) the ability to watch what happens in the pits. however hells corner is a common passing spot and often a little bit of action (usally just a driver missing the corner) If you dont get grandstand/corporate i recommend getting to track early on raceday. the spectator mound at the end of pit straight is a really popular viewing spot. long day to be sitting on ground. However Supercheap at the track sell some quite cheap seats (around $15 from memory) With Bathurst that are no spots where you can see significant parts of the track, so you will always miss out on some action. |

Sorry for the questions folks, Just don't want to spend coin on grandstands (as people do at Barbagallo) only to find out it wasn't worth the coin, but this is a different circumstance where as I think we have to have that Grandstand Base to see the action on race day. Maybe the other grandstands (across) from the pits form a better view than the covered grandstand on the first turn? |

However that being said the Bathurst grand stands on pit straight are improved seating spots where as at barabagello its more a money making venture to suck some people in to paying some extra cash (I've been to WA round) a few tracks do this. The grand stand also has the benefit of being above the new catch fencing My friends did corporate at bathurst and appreciated the free food and drinks, but felt the viewing was better from the other side of the track. (that's just two people though) |

The front straight grandstand is always very vocal too, like the year Mr Perkins Liberaced Mr Skaife, the crowd there cheered as one, almost as loudly as last year when a certain camo car ran out of juice on the last lap... Amazing
Plus having had a great look at the cars being rebuilt in the half time break on the front straight |

Its not all bad though Sandgroper. The whole grandstand standing as one in the top ten in 2003 is up there Often rounds of applause during final pit stops, but yes blue verses red passion is a key part that makes the grand stand so good. The crowd are generally well behaved also with lots of friendly banter |

I enjoy the chase myself. With the big screen across the road for the drunks on the mound behind you don't miss much.

Mound on the inside of the track. Looking back up conrod. The mound with the old XXXX truck is behind.you dont see the exit of the chase but all the action going in. Early on it is good to get right down the end of the mound towards where they tip into the chase. You can get very close to the cars. Also gives a good impression of who is on it and who isn't depending where they hit the limiter.
