If I remember correct they had some Problems with the Front Splitter at 2 Points of the Nordschleife . (Karusell and Schwalbenschwanz )

You're correct in the splitter issue which was down to ride height. It was our first visit to the circuit and obviously we discovered a few things that will stand us in good stead for this weekend.
All in all though, we ended the weekend very pleased with progress and we had a huge amount of interest and good wishes from lots of people. We'd just like to thank everyone (suppliers/sponsors and of course team members for getting us to this important day) for all the effort. Unfortunately I won't be there this weekend due to other commitments but will be out for the 24hr in May. |

Today, after much hard work, pain and passion, we entered and finished our first ever race for the XF.
Despite rain and fog doing their best to scupper everyone's chances, we finished 110th overall and second in class. Having been on this programme from the start, taking over as build manager last March, I can't tell you what this means :-) Thanks to everyone who've helped, advised and generally been there for us when times have got tough. |

Unfortunately this weekend's race finished earlier than expected as we suffered contact with more than one car on the opening lap which resulted in us being forced out with too much damage to continue. Consequently we won't be able to make the third round of the VLN on the 28th but rest assured we will enter the 24hr race with some revisions which simply hadn't had time to be realised due to the tight time constraints.

Alex reported that the Opel caught him out a little by braking unexpectedly but that doesn't excuse the accident and of course there is always two sides to any contact. If we were at fault in harming someone else's race during the course of our own events then of course we're sorry about that.
That said, we move on and at time of writing, its looking like we have sustained less structural damage than initially suspected so we will be working flat out to try and make round three on the 28th. Hopefully the Opel team will also manage to make it out for future rounds too. |

Live timing has the guys leading the class (D3T) unless I'm missing something? RLM just mentioned they'd 'hit' something, which is why the bonnet has popped...

Agreed an amazing effort has met with the highest reward. The past few weeks haven't been without trial and tribulation due to various issues outside of our control but everyone involved with this team, from direct team members to our incredible band of suppliers, should feel incredibly proud tonight.
The boys are on their way home as we speak. Thanks to everyone for your support. Now we just have to evolve the positives taken from this and turn them into something truly spectacular. Many, many thanks for your support Dave |
