Not sure if they could have had a better view than the straight above shot shown on the broadcast but assume they had access to it. The move that Dixon seemed to be objecting to was when Rahal took the inside line exiting the sharp right hand corner (sorry don't remember the turn number). This was clearly in anticipation of, not in reaction to, where Dixon was heading. If Dixon had then moved to the outside and Rahal in reaction had moved to the left, it would clearly have been illegal blocking. My question was why did O'Ward's team find it necessary to be saving fuel? It was clearly a 2 stop race from the get go. The only thing I can think of is that they didn't have the car full at the start. Agree that it's a shame that Rossi didn't get a decent shot in F1. I wonder if there's still a chance that Haas will pick him up. I've always liked Grosjean but he simply hasn't been producing much for results. |

An interesting article from Autosport, regarding Rahal's penalty. Does it set a confusing precedent, as claimed by RLLR's president Piers Phillips?

And I'll back off a little on my initial reaction to the penalty being harsh. It's hard to tell if it's a reaction or if Graham came off the corner and made an immediate move to the inside: https://twitter.com/IndyCaronNBC/sta...710080/video/1 It is the last lap, so gloves come off, but kinda hard to argue with Max Papis and Arie Luyendyk on something like this... |

Well these rules will always be down to discression.
I think it was a bit of a weave. Even on the last lap it was a bit much. I think the penalty is just right |

I can understand if it was a cover. But it was definitely a chop then a weave. No harsh penalty here

Rahal could take any line he wanted exiting the corner. He took a defensive line (as he said - admitting to blocking Dixon), but the rules allow a line that is not reactive to the line that the following driver takes. If he'd blocked Dixon by moving far left after the right hand corner, that would have been reactive. |

It's a tight call. He moved as was his right, but the touch said it was a bit late. That's probably why he was punished
