blue nose should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Well the tubular ones stand up much better than the originals plus they will have rod ends so it will work out much cheaper to fix.

Either go to Specsavers and buy some new glasses
or find a friend who'll let you look at his Autosport

What are the repair costs going to be like though? Zetec conversion repair costs (ie £600 for a nose box) or Kent repair costs????

Rays are'nt as costly to repair as 89 VD's

Oh I don't know. The world and his Dad make spares for VD. Whether they should or shouldn't is another thing.

That Ray you have. Is it the one Dave Payne had at the Festival last year because that was a lovely car. I can't remember the name of the driver, but I remember the car because it was the only car I had seen that had the pullrod suspension. He was saying that he was going to change that, but I also remember how tidy the car was under the bodywork. Everything was really easy to get at to work on. I know with this VD'89, you could do with 3 hands to get at some of the bolts.......

Hopefully, I won't have to be doing to much of that though!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like Matt could have won the Carnival in it, hopefully it'll be fully sorted for the festival.

Bad luck Matt

I have seen in Autosport that the car costs 13,5k.
Is that for a roller and if yes, how much is a fresh Kent engine?

I have done some sums after a brief chat with Bert Ray and it would be the thick end of 20k with a new Neil Bold and a PI. Great performance by Matt at Coombe, shame about the gearbox as it sounds like he could have won. I will be watching the Featival with interest.

I don't think it was the gearbox as much as the gear linkage, as I understand it.

The car is awsome! not too dissimilar to the 97 but just better! it looks dead cool too!

the bit that went wrong was a ****er! what happened was the inside of the rose joint that anchors the front of the gear linkage came out! so I could pull it back for 2nd and 4th but getting it into 3rd from 2nd was very difficult!

mega car though!!

I've heard rumours to suggest that it will be out in the hands of one driver or another at further races.
