Last year, the BOP between the Glikenhaus and the Alpine was right i think. The car that was not in the performance window was the Toyota.
They haven't touch the Glikenhaus BOP and have slowed down the Toyota and to me, it seems to be the right move. But I don't understand why they have hit Alpine and not let them run with last year BOP. They have akreday a smaller fuel tank that is not helping them and because of this they have to pit more ofen. If on the top of that, you are the slowest, it doesn't make any sense. |

The size of their tank, despite the improvements before Le Mans last year is limited by Alpine not the rules. (I assume this is still the case). So I don’t relate the stint length verses the speed as a balancing type thing. That’s not he intent of this rule set.
Difficult to know what stint they could do if they did have the tank size they are allowed. However, it does appear that it is a little too slow. Especially as they were fast at Sebring. Did the changes really make that much difference? |

I don't envy those in charge of BOP. It's a very hard balance to strike. However from the sounds of it, it seems they have got it just about right in the top class. And at the end of the day the cream will still rise to the top. It's down to whoever can make the BOP work best for them

It did gain some top speed into FP3. Also interesting that everyone has a slower top speed in qualifying. |

It was actually quite difficult to move around Le Mans yesterday with the sand clouds emanating from the Alpine. So many bleating about poor Alpine, but they've been playing a fairly standard game, very obviously.

Not sure about this, they're still not on Toyota level and during the race they will suffer in LMP2 traffic. Glickenhaus is more interesting however, I hope they will be able to show some more pace during the race than they did in hyperpole...

Toyota have been worried that the stints might not be that different all year, but that never really came to be. Lapierre said their tactic was to push which doesn’t suggest saving fuel. There is also the smallest of hints about the stint length in here when taking about last year. Might be reading too much into this: https://www.dailysportscar.com/2022/...s-to-push.html |

Well they think they've nailed BoP so they're moving on to AoP for LMP2s now

"Details of how the AoP process will work are limited at this stage."
In the end it will be just another name for the same thing with minor adjustments. Weren't they doing 12-lap stints last year? Now they have less power so 13 laps doesn't sound impossible. |

As far as I'm concerned, there should be no changes at all made BoP wise - anywhere on the grid. |

It could be very interesting. The winner could well end up just being the most reliable of the 5.

They goofed by going for pole. Zero sympathy here.
