Slightly OT but a good place to ask-anyone know if ONE is showing the Daytona 24hrs next weekend? Marcos Ambrose is in the nr60 Michael Shank Racing DP which is a strong contender so Im sure a number of people who follow him would be interested in this.

Are the tyre regulations free in the 12hrs? I vaguely remember in years past that it was restricted to Michelin i think it was but thought it had been opened up? If it is open regs and the car turns up at the race with michelins the big P wouldnt be too happy |

Its a ridiculous situation.... 12hr runners run to 12hr regs = mich/pirelli etc, but GT runners run to GT regs, making mockery of 1st hour results/points....
I havent heard a reasonable explanation of thinking yet. |

Are the entries lodged for both B12H/AGT-R01 required to run Pirellis for the first hour, the duration, at all? |

IIRC tyres are free for the first round given that many cars will be running the 12 Hour. It will be amusing to see a Michelin or Hankook shod car take out Round 1 of the Pirelli-backed series though

Isn't it a bit ridiculous that there is a control tyre in the GT Championship again? Especially after the noise that was made on here by people that could only use Michelin - then to open it up, have people use Michelin and Hankook, just to close it again?

No Greg Crick and the Viper due to lack of $$$ and the Viper up for sale.
Greg now concentrating on the TCM. |

Yeah, the Mopar money didn't stretch to the expanding GT budget that you seemed to need in 2012...He seems pretty happy in TCM - big shame and a big loss for GT

One wonders if SRT will build a FIA GT3 version of the latest gen Viper. |

Erebus to run at Clipsal...
... and maybe no other round of the GT series Peter Hackett's Mercedes Benz Dealer Team come on down While Scudd's Lamborghini and Mr Quinn's Aston Martin are not confimed for Clipsal, and likely scratchings |

Given the AGT is now the domain of Pirelli control tyres, and Erebus GT have an extremely strong relationship with Michelin, it's hardly surprising they may look to compete elsewhere on their chosen tyre development partner rather than locally with one who is providing the "most affordable" deal.

Would be extremely disappointing if Erebus dont compete in the championship.
Even more so if it is down to tyre contracts Great news about the endurance events but definitely need a presence in the local championship. |
