If Massa does better than Alonso this year then it wouldn't be the first time Felipe has taken it to the top Ferrari driver of the time and beaten him.

Great intro as ever frostie. Can McLaren get it together, after a disappointing start to the season? Then there's Vettel and Webber; who will be giving the finger?

Alonso's already mentioned this weekend that it'll be an exceptional lap if he beats Felipe. Gamesmanship, no doubt, but he has a point. These guys are all talented and the margins quite narrow that even though it's probably fair to say Alonso is exceptional and Felipe isn't (by F1 standards), he's pointing out that although he may be better it's not a surprise that Felipe should beat him and he is still doing an amazing job to do so.

Alonso is being savvy no doubt but he does expect Felipe to be quicker as ultimately it benefits his and the team's challenge. |

Tyres. You wanted it, they gave it. IIRC the re jig of qualifying was to make sure there were loads of cars all out there for the hour trying to be fastest. Instead of waiting until the last minute when it was a scarp to find enough space on the track.
A case of be careful what you wish for? |

I don't understand why they don't just give them all a load of extra tyres which are just for Quali. Scrap this top 10 starting on the same tyres and have a proper shoot out.

Apparently, the guy who refueled Mark's car then ran into the back of the RBR garage rather swiftly. Reports suggest a couple of minutes later, Helmut Marko walked into the RBR garage with messy hair and his face looked like he'd been wearing a balaclava.

Is this the RBR team's way of getting back at Potsie for telling the whole world about 'Multi 21' |

Hopefully Webber can start at 14th. With him in the midfield, but Vettel only a few places ahead, things can still become very interesting between them.

The same thing happened to Vettel last year in Abu Dhabi, right ?
Maybe it was team's way of getting back at Seb for... Oh forget it, I guess this only works if Webber is the victim Anyway, he started last : http://www.formula1.com/results/seas...9/results.html |

bloody vettel, now he lured poor old mark into staying out one lap too long, and he 's only 14th. still, not too bad for a number 2 driver...
and also webber still has the potential to distance seb even further and start directly behind the caterhams... |

Handy failure for Red Bull in that it keeps their drivers seperated. But they wouldn't do that deliberately, too costly in terms of points potentially. So meh, just one of those things.
Great pole for Mercedes. Still, it will be for nothing as they will have to pit on lap three. Fantastic job by Pirelli YET AGAIN. |

I disagree about the tyres
Basically here you have teams having to run a qualifying tyre in the arce wghich is pathetic Pirelli have got it wrong here in my opinion, far too much dropff on the softs |

Oh come on. It was convenient for sure, but surely nothing more.
And chunder, I agree entirely. Absolutely farcical and it makes F1 look ludicrous. |

Having the tyres drop off an driving to conserve them etc is all part of the fun of F1 but it does look like Pirelli have pushed it too much for this race. Although it should make tomorrow interesting.

The Q3 regulations need an overhaul sooner rather than later. The current situation is farcical, we need to have all ten cars circulating in the pursuit of pole position, not just to set sector times.
