Well I'm wondering why Pakistan tested their brand new car but won't race, and Korea announce a new driver and then don't race. Maybe there is something dodgy going on... I don't know any more.

We have no idea who's fault it is because neither A1 nor them tell us anything...

Exactly. So I would love to know Lam Pak's rationale for the idea that A1GP has it in for Asian teams.

Only ten cars ran in the rookie session...what is going on now?

No idea - I think because the cars arrived late, many teams are frantically putting everything together - you know the practice sessions were moved back multiple times? I suppose this is the latest in the day they could run practice, even with several teams clearly not ready.

As things stand right now as I post this, there's 30 mins left in free practice, and BRA, CHN, GBR, INA, ITA, MEX and USA haven't put in a single lap.

Yes, but clearly all ISN'T well as practice was delayed several times and now loads of teams are missing out.

Cars apparently usually arrive on Monday or Tuesday, giving teams lots of time to set up - but it appears that here, with cars arriving yesterday, some teams may be struggling to get everything sorted - why else would multiple teams miss out on crucial laps on a new track to the series?

I hope the teams who have missed running time give A1GP a kick up the backside.

It will be interesting how this is reported in A1GP's news update. How will they gloss over this one?

I'd say, looking at the results today, that Germany is a serious force to reckon with. Not knowing car or track, and immediately competative.

I am seriously impressed.

To be expected.. Driver always fast last season, running with top team and the cars are very restricted on set up. (More so than the Lola) No team has circuit knowledge advantage.

Just really happy cars made it to another race. hope the can finish the season and regroup for season 5..

More surprised by Morad. (Maybe LEB purchased extra PTP)LOL

All change tomorrow when it gets serious and they all pull their finger out>
Hope they dont use PTP in qual>

Apparently the reason was

With Kyalami sitting 2000-feet above sea level, A1GP has had to introduce new parts to the cars’ fuel systems to combat the high altitude. Unfortunately, the additional parts were not available to be fitted in time to five cars. It also delayed some of the other cars which did get out.
Those teams affected will get extra practice time

The best one can say about that is that at least they are doing something positive to rectify the situation.

The worst is that it should never have arisen. Everyone knows that Kyalami is a high altitude circuit. Blimey, even when I was racing there was a different fuel injection set-up for that circuit, so no-one can say that it came as an unexpected surprise. Not that I raced there by the way, but one season the engine was running exceptionally rich and that was the reason - Kyalami settings.

At least they will even it out, but I agree it should not have happened in the first place.

Been watching the data streams from practice and haven't seen Team GBR turn a lap so far this morning. So only 17 runners so far.

Edit:

Seems Team GBR have now made it out with half the session gone.

Adam Khan is "concentrating on the rest of season 4, season 5 and the ING Renault F1 team" (where he is a demo driver) while Korea are "still restructuring".

The grid for the feature looks cracking! Theres alot of fast race cars down in the pack. Expecting a decent race!

The sprint looks like NED will romp away.

Oh, and gutted for Morad. He has looked pacey all weekend.

------------

I cant help but be underwhelmed by this new ferrari car. Sure it looks nice and is faster, but its so unspectacular. The old A1 car would have been a riot around this place, and they may have turned up on time.....

New Zealand in the box seat for the feature race,2 easy beats in front and the faster cars all further back down the grid.
