Not concerned about the Dyson pace in the wet here. The DW blew up a gearbox (or something else?) after one or two flying laps. I'm not sure what the rules will be with this, but I think they will have to start from the back if they are doing gearbox work.

You have to set a lap within 115% of class pole to "qualify" to start. Rule there to prevent slowpokes from running races.

And since we ran 4h on Tuesday and 1.5h yesterday, I didn't go out in the bathtub today for the two practice sessions. Only those counted.

(Apparently we're not the only car hit by this nonsense, several others are in the same situation.)

Kind of OT, but it happened in Parking Lot T... tip of the hat to the guys with 4X4's and tow straps, and the creative ideas, that came to the rescue of the dozen or so vehicles that sank into the Hill Country earth in that lot. Seriously, so much rain that many cars were stuck before they even tried to move.

Why is the 551 car up the grid if they didn't set a qualifying time? Doesn't no qualifying time equal back of grid in this series anymore?

Just watched the qualifying replay after work today.
The penalties are kind of strange, sounds like a technicality.
Second and third isn't bad for the Vettes.

Bummed to see the Falken Porsche struggling, even in rain. Still cheering for you!

I think there is going to be some excitement seeing these cars quickly going through traffic to get back to the front. Good thing COTA is wide. Could look like a land rush.

Turns out because it was a wet session, cars were reordered by class unless they were penalized for drive time reasons. So basically the 551 didn't set a time so they got to start up grid with the other P2 who want penalized. Weird.

Only a 1:55 by the Muscle Milk car in practice? Surely I'd think it could go at least a second or two faster? Rebellion car in WEC practice right now has done a 1:53.0

Why does the link page to the live stream only appear so close to the race. It's maddening. You go through this "will it appear" stress before every race. Or at least I do...

It's 4am in Singapore so I'm particularly keen not to be wasting my time :-)

Did the Risi Ferrari short-cut the track? For just a bit there, Malucelli had the quickest lap in GT by a second, at a 2:07.2.
