I won't be the "Le Mans Week" any more, but the "two weeks of Le Mans" then !

Not sure it's a good move for teams that need to imporve the car between PQs and race...

Just seen this over on DSC, it looks like the dates have offically moved DSC have told this by an ACO official that the, 2005 Le Mans 24 Hours will take place on June 17/18, 2005 with the test being on 5th June.

John Hindhaugh just reported it on the LMES Spa broadcast. I'm now seriously thinking about that fortnight to be honest.

This could be awesome for the French tourist board. I'm now toying with the idea of a touring holiday with Le Mans as a pair of glorious bookends!

Sounds like a good idea to me Tim. I think I will be booking Le Mans 2005 off work tomorrow.

This move is outstanding if DSC is correct. And there is no reason not to believe them.

This really opens the door for the ALMS to put together a great 2005 (and beyond) schedule.

Mr. Panoz; "you are da man".

It certainly does place more emphasis on getting cars right before PQ doesn't it. Like perhaps in ALMS or LMES events. Co-incidence?

Definitely : are we going to an internationan championship ?

The 15 days of Le Mans next June : gather your savings !

It is said that the teams could use the Bugatti between PQs and the race... 15 days around the track to see the cars improve their set up ! Oohoohooh !

OK guys, it's now official and published in local press.

PQ will take place on 5.June and the race on 18 & 19.June.

I don't know why but maybe the Unofficial Tourist Board will have some more job this year...

Well, I would have preferred the 11/12th JUne but at least 18/19th is better than the reported 17/18th which would have been a little strange ....

What can I say? The last I heard, someone was trying to build a wind-turbine on it. Thought I'd better take a look before they did.

And to redress the balance a bit, I was also planning to see the Somme as well.

Oh, and what's Gascony like to live in? I'm hatching a small plan....

Never let it be said that you guys don't hold things to your heart!

Now, assuming I'm still welcome in France next summer, where would you recommend for a visit during two weeks in la belle France?

Saint Emilion ! (not far from Bordeaux) A wonderful place (small town, no cars inside, wineyards everywhere around). Alpen are really great too... Alsace ! For landscape and gastronomy, everything... her... Burgundy is my favourite (you know why)... what else ? I love Britanny coast too, but it may be not far enough of your usual surroundings...

A unforgetable place : Aveyron/Gers/Tarn area (south west)...

... and the south of the Sarthe is not too bad too !

A little cottage along the river, a river cruise on la Sarthe, a visit to some pottery maker (because you may not able to have a 2 week-stay without your wife), some beautiful trees to rest under,...

Rats! Gilles, you've pointed out a significant error in my vacation planning.

I could have had 2 weeks in France were I not already committed to Florida in February (and no racing, at that!). My parents would have absolutely died to join us, and I'd have been at The Race with my father and daughter. Oh, how sweet... Imagine if the ACO sticks with this schedule for years.
