ESPN Classic is also having a series "Racing Through Time" which covers F1 racing from (I think) 50s, 60s and 70s.

I think the showings will continue, I got bored looking. Odd how they show '78 and '79 consecutively, but the wrong way round! Quote:

Oh, the 1973 race last night was top notch BTW. 50 minutes as well, so a good length.
Peterson through the old Woodcote corner.....bliss. |

update
1973: Sat 23/9/06 2200-2300 & Sun 24/9/06 1600-1700
1974: Sat 30/9 22:30, Sun 1/10 16:30 1975: Sat 30/9 22:00, Sun 1/10 16:00 Blast I failed to see '79 (too much to record on those days and ineptitude). Then we have a racing through time programme, with the subject being Silverstone on 7/10/06 (2200) and 8/10 (1600). IIRC that has some good footage of XJS at Silverstone in '82. 15/16 and 21/22 has four programmes about Jackie Stewart (himself and his team). I think I have seen that before (on beeb?). It looks like they are having a bit of a Motorsport break after that |

That must be the lot then, because they have shown all those races.
The Jackie Stewart programmes are "The Flying Scot" documentary, broken up into chunks as far as I can tell. So I look forward to 'Racing Through Time'! |

Well today they showed 1980 on their '70's F1 show Not that im complaining, a good race that one plenty of tyre drama's!
I will definetly have to catch the 1973 programme, I missed that one to when it was shown originally! Im praying that they can show some late 80s races, perhaps even some oversea's races, Monaco would be good! I wish I could get my hands on the archive, I would have a whole channel dedicated to Motorsport and old races if I had my way! |

There won't be any late 80's races I doubt.
I want to know why there has been no 1976! |

No I understand that its highly unlikely, but no harm in dreaming!
I just had a quick search and found the channels website. Now we can all see whats on and when http://www.espnclassic.com/deadgoods...izer/index.asp I guess this is where Adam has been getting all his info. |

Yes it is. Although it has been available since the channel was launched. It isn't the best and can take a bit of effort to gleen desired facts from it. Style over content really. However the info is there.

Yep, just about to go watch.
I love watching all the classic races, especially to compare the circuits form then to now. |

It's odd how few cameras there were in those days. Tom Pryce went off and you didn't see any other shots. You take todays TV for granted.
One thing - the incident that caused the red flag - pretty disturbed when the shot switched to a driver looking in a bad state - who was that. |
