The only tarmac changes are a small amount of re-surfacing above the new access tunnel. The yellow flag restrictions were a one-off last minute compromise to avoid cancelling two small meetings, the circuit now has a proper licence and no yellow flag zone is required.
As far as infrastructure changes, there's the infamous access tunnel and the Dunlop bridge has been removed but other than that not much else. |

I think they've done some work on the new pits as well, but that won't affect the BTCC. Can't remember where I read that though. The new layout's going to be really good by the looks of it, I really can't wait. Just hope they've got all the funding now.

A new pit/paddock complex is planned but no work has been started on them yet. The earth banks and moto-x track are still in place.

Cartridge World are saying on crash.net that they're struggling to get Dan Eaves' car fixed in time.

It would be a shame if they had to miss out.
Is there any indication from Hughes yet if he's recovered enough to race? |

Quote:
When Eaves broke a steering rack at the start of race 1 the team had to get one from a supplier 50 miles away because they didn't carry a spare. Maybe the struggle is more down to lack of parts than lack of time. |

The crash story does indicate that the supply of parts is the problem.
Colin Neill 'the last race incident resulted in us having to order some replacement parts which have been delayed getting to us. ' AON are also hoping for progress having carried out engine upgrades, Wind Tunnel Aero and Suspension modifications being tested at Pembrey. |

I suppose one of the differences between a works team and an independant team, especially as new to the car as CVR are, is that they don't have a spare car in their workshop

I can't rewrite the grid at the moment - but Giovanardi's not on pole anymore. Failed weighbridge, so he goes to the back ahead of Bell, Eaves & Leason in 19th.
Andrew Jordan takes his first pole! Last edited by Hazard; 16 May 2009 at 16:59. |

James Thompson takes the first win of the year for Team Dynamics, and his first since 2006 in the BTCC (though, I guess he hasn't been in the BTCC since 2006 ).

A good recovery drive from Owy, before ending up in the gravel. Ditto Matt Neal - shame he was involved in the BMW ending up in the wall, but that seemed a pure accident.
Plato looked out of sorts, especially into Redgate - curious incidents with both Vaulkhard and Gio there. Great battle for the lower points positions. |

I was impressed with Vaulkard. Has he mentioned any reason for his improvement in pace? Chilton looked in a class of his own.

Plato passes 3 cars under Safety Car and is allowed to retain the position. Some things never change.

Why is it that the BTCC have their races scheduled at the exact same time as the WTCC races? By fluke or intention?

They don't change the schedules - they always race the same times really - just when the WTCC is in different countries it changes.
So, first repeat win for James Thompson. Nice work. I noticed Tim Harvey referred to the lady in the pits as his g/f - and indeed his BTCC.net profile doesn't list him as married anymore. After all that fuss a few years ago! (the race and wedding, when he was racing for Alfa Romeo IRC). |

Recent comments from Rob Collard have included urging Jelley to calm down, and has stated that - 'Jelley’s like a bull in a china shop'.
It seems a bit rich when he then charges like a bull into the back of Thompson through the first corner. I'm waiting to see if Collard will complain about Jordan after being involved in another incident during R2 today? |
