McLaren have nominated Di Resta at Silverstone who has driven ONE F1 race n 3 years, do we seriously think he is prepared to step into the McLaren if they have a problem. Mercedes with their zillion dollar budget, don't think it is worth their while to put Gutteritz in the car for 300km to get his licence up to date - just in case. Who would Ferrari put in - Mick Schumacher? Red Bull have fallen out wth more young drivers than they could count - who would they put in Buemi? Hulk wasn't contracted to RP until Thursday evening before the race and made FP1 by literally minutes due to his covid test results coming back. If Hulk had been uncontactable or if Perez had tested positive on Sat morning, they would have had no one to put in the car - as it happened the car didn't make the race anyway. I think we will see the teams take it more seriously, the FIA or FOM may even make it part of the regulations that they must have a qualified, prepared reserve driver. |

I guess you need to inform Ferrari and Pascal that? Ferrari list him as a Simulator driver only, and on Pascal's website he describes himself as 'Official Simulator Driver'.
Giovinazzi - Reserve Fuoco - Simulator Rigon - Simulator Wehrlein - Simulator Not that it's really important when it comes to who they choose if they have a current driver unavailable.... |

Yawn. He’s available if he is needed. Therefore he’s a 2nd reserve driver in all but name

They don’t, particularly for a one off race. Although it supports the other series and drivers so it is a good thing to do. The F2 and F3 series are shown on telly, including the F1TV so there is still some exposure.
Although remember the main thing is F1 is doing something wrong. |

No support races? How can they do that? The junior drivers need the exposure in front of the f1 teams. They need seat time and experience to develop. They can't just not race those series. Nor can they run those series separate of f1, because then the f1 teams won't be able to get as good of a look at the upcoming talents. Stupid f1. Ridiculous that they have tires failing at the end of their life like last weekend. So dangerous and just ridiculous to have a race outcome affected like that. Man, the races are so boring, they're predictable processions with no surprises. We know there's one stop, we know when, and we know what tires they're putting on. How boring. Stupid f1. Did I get that all right? |
