Rebellion got to the 1:59s, but that was with a different aero kit, different BOP/EOT, and a different time of year.

On the one hand I applaud the ACO for the concept and for getting manufacturers involved, however this is something people have been talking about for months. My take on it would be to perhaps leave things as they are now and either set a date / event when changes will be made or just make them in the off season and say reduce the Hypercar class min weight by XX amount, pick a figure, 75kg, 100kg? I guess its open to debate and no doubt some teams would have issues with losing that much weight. |

Is there a better timing and scoring available than the official WEC page?

Or if you download the alkamel desktop app, there might be some secret preference available in the preferences. Qualifying results are about as expected with shenanigans pulled back at least a little. |

So after all that, Toyota essentially on the same pace as Spa qualifying last year.

They were running 6.5 seconds off what the car could actually do without EoT handicap last year though.

Remind me, what were the main reasons the Toyotas were so much slower last year than in 2019? Did they simply add more weight to their cars? Or was it restrictor-related?

Very happy to finally have the season underway. But I do feel for Proton and Project 1. Hopefully they can rebuild those cars.

Because lmp1 had success ballast last year and toyota had all kind of success handicap during the whole season after first race. They had weight ballast, lower fuel flow rate, lower hybrid boos releasable, less energy per lap from fuel etc... also R13 that got pole in 1.59 was slower than 2019 because of the same reason. |

Good to see Toyota drop some time, and I was really impressed that the p2 was still able to do it 2:02! |
