Yeah would be on avg ~2m drop from the grass along the back of the pit lane (lowest point of the track) and the ground level keeps going up back to where the first row of pits behind the grass/buildings and then keeps on rising to the back of the pits complex.
Best pic I could find from a quick google that shows the angle of the dummy grid down to the main straight. On thing I do want to know, why the fark does v8 supercars use a different finishing line to the start line? they use the line near the entry to pit lane which makes the run out of the last corner way to short for any last corner dive and drag to the chequered flag. Seen a few races (support races inc) over the v8 weekends here where places would of changed with the old finishing line. Last edited by Bell_End; 13 May 2014 at 04:07. |

Seems when the new pits were built they moved it back. The support races still use the start line as the finish line though!!! |

The start line is before pit exit so they need to move the finish line to stop any Michael Schumacher shenanigans.

P2
Fastest of the 4 888 built cars is P17, with 888 run cars in 22 & 23. Old tyres, race simulation or have they lost their mojo? Edit: Spoke too soon! 3 888 cars finish P3 in the top 10. Last edited by Driver TBA; 16 May 2014 at 06:35. |

Next year it will be on LIVE and ad free......but you have to pay for it : (
With qly a delayed telecast I can't see why they just can't show the full 10 minutes and stop pretending it's happening as we watch it. Qly today was on at 12:35pm (AEST) yet they showed it an hour later. The broadcast started at 12pm. Just **** off Race Day and V8 Xtra and show it LIVE. The team PR departments then also wouldn't have to wait till after it's shown on TV to publicize the (mostly already known) results. |

Wow, Volvo win and Erebus looking very racy, something wrong with parity?
Clearly Roland Dane's illuminati are going a long way to make sure the Commodore's superiority is not uncovered... Also: If I was Scotty Mac I reckon I might have put Jack Perkins off onto the grass at some point, that was crass. EDIT: Was Jack on the lead lap and not being lapped? Might have to take that back. Mr Perkins was on the lead lap, but certainly not in a competitive state.
Contrary to what many believe, he was entitled to defend his line. Mr MacLaughlan would've disposed of him sooner or later anyway. |

Well, I take back what I said, he did make it bloody obvious though by blocking Scott and then letting the FPR car straight through.

The JeldWen car was driving super straight... on line, and relatively slower than the cars behind and catching it... cooked the rears by the end though... interesting strategy, like when Team BOC used to run the longest of every car, presumably for the teev time... but the ultimate result usually remained in the midfield..

the Aussie Car and Ute race were shown on delay. So surely they could have been put them back till after we saw qly LIVE??? If qly is on before the telecast starts then obviously it's a different story, but you can go onto Speedcafe or even the V8SC site and "see" updates of qly LIVE, meaning you know the results well in-advance of watching it on TV. In knowing the result in advanced, watching it becomes "non-essential viewing". The DVS race was shown LIVE apparently. |

Even the V8SC website and its Facebook minders can't keep their mittens off the 'send' button until it's been shown on the telly. I suppose they do have to beat every other vulture to it.
