The Setanta thing is totally unfounded so far, I assume it'll be confirmed at the media day or will be proven to simply be a rumour I suppose.

Been confirmed at the media day Setanta will be showing the full days racing!

Hmm wonder how much it'll be.

Quality - was really going to miss the full-day coverage having had it previously!

Setanta Sports is £10 for the first three months on Sky, then £15 from the onwards.

It's £10.99 for 12 months on Freeview then £12.99 from the onwards (though there's only the Setanta Sports channel)

It's £15 a month flat for NTL/Virgin.

Fairly annoyed it's on Setanta. Would rather Men & Motors had picked up the full day live coverage if they're going to do it at all. Highlights are pointless.

Also, ITV dropping live coverage on terrestrial can't be great for everyone? Speaking for the people, not as one mind.

Oh, Setanta/NASN I love you. Why did I insult your services on Daytona week? I was so blind to the obvious racing feast you wanted to endow the UK with!

Fantastic news! And, if they;re gonna show it on ITV as a tightly packaged highlights programme rather than the shambolic live format then that's great news too. Cool, bring it on!

Well the 5 last meetings will be live on ITV1, I assume highlights of races 1 & 2 then the 3rd race fully live. The first five will be to the same format on ITV2, 3 or 4.

I'm pleased they have some serious reporters on board in Louise Goodman and Ted Kravitz though. Got to be an improvement over VBH.

Oh, urgh. I misunderstood. In that case, the coverage is very poor. Even poorer when you realise Goodman and Kravitz are on board

Meetings 1 to 5 are on ITV2/3/4 in the 'existing' format and ITV1 in highlights. Meetings 6 to 10 are on ITV1 in the 'existing' format. Additionally, highlights are on Men & Motors. Full live coverage on Setanta.

Does anyone know whether Motorsport UK will be broadcast on terrestrial TV this season?

That used to show highlights of the BTCC support races albeit many weeks after the events.

Just trying to decide whether I really am going to swallow my pride and go back to Setanta only a month after cancelling!

Goodman and Kravitz won't be good at all. VBH or Angus Scott far preferred,

Anyway, that's irrelevant - as long as they shut up when it's racing. I imagine they're presenting not pit reporting too, especially considering the F1 clashes.

Shame, Nick Damon was coming along nicely...almost stirring a war with that Formula Renault support race last season - and nicely shoving his way into cars for interviews, booting Alan out of the way!

Not one single clash as far as I can see..

I'm not sure it's a case of not being brave, more taking a good TV package and working to it.

Looks like an equally shambolic 25 mins of highlight in the small hours. By the time they've given each of the grid and results, plus space for ad breaks, we'll be luck to get much more than 2 laps of each race.

Repeated, but 10 mins longer (more ads?) on Men & Munters Fri 6th 19:30-20:05

Still no sign of any coverage on Setanta

There are no adverts on ITV at that time of night, so it will be the equivalent of a 30 minute programme at any other time.

Motorsport UK has been showing two or three races cut down into that sort of timeslot for six years, and you see plenty of racing there.

As for Setanta, it's live all day on Setanta Sports 2.

Bah. All in all a pretty poor deal then. When they said highlights, I presumed they'd be shown mid afternoon like they've always been. Mr Gow, whatever he says in public, must be pretty ****ed off that they've bumped his coverage.

I wouldn't be so sure - the support race highlights have been getting big audiences in that slot... on three occasions last year, there were more people watching Motorsport UK than watched the equivalent BTCC round in the afternoon.

That most likely says more about the quality of the BTCC than the time the supports were shown.

Anyone else think ITV are waiting to see how large an audience the first 5 races attract to see if it's worth putting on live on ITV1 ?
