V8's rule should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

What would really be a good idea........Is for all this Forums supporters of the worthy, but who have have no money or access to money........To have a whip around........And come up with enough money to persuade the likes of SBR.......Or any other team, with a low cost "Star" allready in the making" .....to employ other low cost Star........As apposed to accepting money from a rich kid's dad, for the second car.

Then every one's wishes might come true........Until then IMO "pigs might fly" .....Least IMO.

Perhaps Mr Owen may have a little cheque-book from Tint-a-Car given his Fujitsu efforts thus far. Mr Loadsman did hint at Main game aspirations - perhaps a good all round fit ?

SBR just needs some one who is hungry to win and go for it.... i.e. someone who isn't affraid to put the car into spaces where it doesn't belong... Like the enforcer, but he crossed back over to the dark side. Or they could get Chad Reed he's looking for a ride and he'd bring lots of money as well.

Wood-duck: That all depends if the Owen/PMM story is real or an incredibly strategically planted seed

If anyone saw the interview with Courtney and rushtie on sundays RPM, it was rather intersting that Courtney pretty much avoided the question of "where are you going next year" stating that he'll share in a couple of months or weeks..........

Does that seem strange to everyone that he'd say that.... Or is just that he's trying to throw everyone off what he's doing......

So... given the story in this week's MeN regarding Mr Courtney's alleged move to the FPR-supported Ford Dealer Team...

.... where does the queue start for a driver in the #4 car in 2009?

Are we looking at:
- Will Davison
- David Besnard
- Steven Richards
- Jason Bright
- Luke Youlden
- Dean Canto
- Steve Owen
- Grant Denyer
- Karl Reindler
- Paul Dumbrell
- Andrew Thompson
- Mark Winterbottom
- Craig Lowndes
- Steve Johnson
- Max Wilson
- Mark Skaife

... or some other lucky bunny?

The story inferred that it would be a 3 car team.

tbh i wouldn't be surprised to se CL pop up in the #4 car, i'm sure Ford and him would have a way out of the 888 contract and he is arguably Fords biggest star on the fan side and CL won't want to leave QLD and i think Ford would want him in a Ford supported car and they want JC also so it seems most logical to move him south and keep CL happy and i QLD. i wouldn't be surprised to see a threat later on "888 in 2009" or "who will fill the #888 seat".

Besides it has to be approved by Billy first.

Will Davo was one I had heard around the place
I'm pretty sure Steve Richards contract with FPR doesnt end until the end of 09 not that that means all that much
Luke Youlden would definitely have to be a contender. Up until this year he was their enduro driver for ages. The only thing that could get in the way is if they're looking for money. Youlden isn't the Fujitsu series this year (at the moment) because he lost a sponsor.
Canto would have to be another on the list but he's in the same boat as Youlden.
Winterbottom has a multi year deal with FPR and with the way his season is going I doubt they are ready to part with him anytime soon.
As for Steve Johnson - YEAH RIGHT!! DJR bring up the discussion that his contract is up for renewal every year and nothing every eventuates from it. The only way he wont be in a seat at DJR is if he steps out of the seat and into another role within the team.

The interesting thing will be if it is Will Davo or Steve Richards that will open up a whole new discussion on who will fill their seats!!

The other factor in the equation is that the franchise leased by Jim Morton and supposedly earmarked for Courtney is owned by Holden sponsored PWR. Perhaps one of the FPR drivers could be SBR bound?

Unlikely PWR would want the franchise back for their own use but if Holden wanted to enter another car, maybe.

The Lowndes at 888 could be interesting. Having Ford's star driver driving for a team that want nothing to do with the manufacturer doesn't make for a harmonious mix. Guess we will see where Lowndes' loyalty lies with 888 or Ford after his Ford deal expires at the end of 2009.

Brett 'The Crusher' Murray said in his collum this week that Courtney has put his house up for sale.... So does mean a move is on the cards? one might think so. So Lowndes seem he is still contracted to ford could move there - maybe ? yeah no he won't leave t888
