He'd be better off in WSS or WSBK. I really doubt he would be welcomed back into the GP class unless he was bringing a lot of cash. Why waste time running Moto 2...

West & cash dont go together, never have... Only good thing about it is that i may now be half interested in the italian/spanish dominated class!

Hehe well it doesnt take patriotism for me to get interested in GP racing, never has!

But, a load of ex GP riders surely makes the class interesting, even if the bikes are dog slow!!

Hehe

It has nothing to do with nationalities and riders, more the fact that NOONE can break their monopoly.

More to do with the rules that basically make MotoGP an endurance event.

I am looking for ward to seeing how the GP riders mix with the likes of Noyes, Redding and the 250 guys.

In GP, the best riders are on the best bikes, = boring. In GP2 no one has a clue how its going to go!! = interesting

Any Westy news for next year? I heard via Eurosport that MZ were offering Marques a huge amount of cash to ride for them next year, understandable as the lads the next Alien for sure, but he was'nt interested. Wonder if they will keep Westy? Hes done a good jb on a shhh bike - shame we havent had more rain tho... Also where are MZ getting these wodges of cash to offer Marques? and why have'nt they spent it on a decent bike this year - Westy was wearing old Supersport overalls for a while they were so hand to mouth. I hope he picks up a good ride anyway, hes pushed that thing very hard this year.

I am very doubtful that MZ would be in any position to offer Marques a ride! I think they are just a sort of sponsor, they dont build that bike.

Dont really care what West is doing, he has had a zillion chances, just like Gobert and many others. And anyone that blows off a chance as he did at KTM deserves to be club racing anyway.

Really hoping for a wet summer of Moto GP this year, Westy was superb on that garden gate of a bike last Sunday.

I am not an Australian.

I guess Vermuelen and Rutter made a career out of being good in the wet, so why not him.

Some teams are a little more short sighted then others

Funny how you continue to post in here - you must be a West fan, 1 of the 2 or 3 on this forum...
Was good to see him beat his team-mate

This is one of the oldest running threads! And I only post on here coz usually when he gets one result in the wet a few people always clamour for the West to GP flag!

I rate the lad as I often say but he is like Vermuelen, only top drawer in the wet!

I think Neukirchner has dragged two points scoring results in dry conditions out of the bike this year, I may be mistaken but they may both have been top ten finished. Perhaps they are making some sort of progress with that bike?

Hmmm, interesting, I'm sure the captions on the TV coverage report the make of bike as MZ-RE Honda, are you saying the bike is really an FTR?

Yes from what the commentators say both on EuroTwitter and BBC/World feed.
