Why not just allow GT3 from next year and have GT3 combined with GTE and just BOP them.

GTE is oversubscribed as it is. Adding extra GT3 cars would mean turning down more GTE entries. And that means denying the return on investment to teams who bought (in many cases recently) GTE cars to compete specifically at Le Mans and in the WEC. Other than private collections, there's nowhere else for these cars to go.

When Porsche sold a batch of 10 brand new 911 RSR-19s last year, I knew straight way GTE would stay for a few more years.
