Here's the link. http://www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk/...try%20List.pdf
Yes the Top Hat race has got a lot of American muscle in it. Watch out for the Christophoru RS1600 on the 70's race, that is one very well sorted and quick car. Overall a reasonable entry considering the inital response to the Masters series take over. Last edited by Peter Mallett; 30 Mar 2007 at 06:21. |

the three litre elan 26r looks interesting...
good to have this list - being so early in the season the race prgramme for sale on the day bears even less resemblance to reality than usual!! |

if its any consolation I went testing hoping I'd shaken niggles out and came home with a blown head gasket, although I've not planned on racing this weekend anyway so its not a huge dissapointment, more a bl00dy annoyance!

Just take care, chatting at Marshals Training day last sunday, their's now a sweepstake being put together on who'll be the first to hit the new pit wall
If your off track out of Camp, you haven't got as much room as you used to to get it back on track, with a nice new (clean) concrete wall angled out as you get further down the grass. |

Well smart money should be on one of our own championships, FF1600 or Saloons... Dunno why though!

I hope everyone has an excellent and safe meeting. The weather forecast is looking amazingly good, and the grids are full. What else can be asked for..

Doing my first meet on monday (9/4)at combe, and really looking forward to some good racing as i have heard good comments about the circuit for racing and some good footage of crashes at the training day this year.
Just done a 3 dayer at Pembrey doing classic Bikes,so really looking forward to watching some of the golden oldies (muscle cars esp). look forward to meeting a new bunch of marshals aswell. |

To be honest didnt see much... Had a total disaster of a day, Head gasket went in practice, Thanks to Diffy racing having a spare one and my dad`s persistance of not getting beaten by are troublesome bmw we got it out in the race only to do about 900 yards from the startline when a rocker exploded
I am sure someone else can fill you in with a happier report |

Can't report much because I was only there for the morning flyering for Retro Rides Show. There will be some pictures up tomorrow morning though, I'll post when I've uploaded them.
I think Mr.Mallett may have had issues, I swear he spun on the opposite side of the circuit to Quarry in practice. The car was in the paddock unscathed (at least to my untrained eye) afterwards... I went back before lunch to see if I could find him to ask some questions,.. but it seemed the car was gone and I think the trailer as well... Or did I get hideously lost in the paddock?? My first time visiting Castle Combe (previously a devotee of Brands and Pembrey) .. Found it to be a really nice circuit, and only 25 minutes from my new house |

An excellent day at Combe. Weather was perfect, as were the grids. The only down side I thought was the amount of damage in the pre 66 saloons. Some expensive repairs to Mustangs in the coming weeks...
Thanks for the entertainment. |

First time at combe, was on "quarry out" for the day.
cant give you names and numbers, but it was a day packed full of some really entertaining racing going on,a big defo on my calendar for future races. The grid walk(as so to speak) on the 3 different parts of the circuit was a big hit with all the spectators, also gave me the chance to get up close to the GT`s. The historic racing itself had some very close fought battles throughout the field. WELL DONE COMBE |

Hi all,
Well, another great Easter Monday meeting at Combe. Fantastic weather, everyone seemed to be in a good mood, and the transition from Julius T. to the Masters series seemed to be largely irrelevent to most people. Most of the usual suspects were around (didn't manage to catch up with Mr. Mallett, despite being parked 50 yards from him), and there was good racing both to watch and take part in. My own race was marred by some sh*t scary problems with my brakes, being a combination of hardly any braking force, alternating with the car pulling to one side dramatically under heavy braking, then the other side at the next corner. Very strange, and b*ggered if I can come up with a rational solution yet. Meant I had to drive near the middle of the track in each corner, not to mention earlier braking. Still, got there in the end, and I'm sure the crease in the driver's seat will iron out!! Hope others' experience was good! James |
