No it survived despite Mr Courtney's attempts.
Became Webb's Fujitsu ride after that. I believe it's sitting in the SBR workshop awaiting restoration, but Ross and Jimmy are undecided as to what spec and livery. |

Do SBR have any test sessions left?
Surely he would want to "get his eye in" @ QR before going to an all new track in Homebush? |

Who Cares?
I doubt he'd be competive straight off the plane, he'd need to do some serious testing - and who wants to xxxxaway valuable testing time for a
one off. There is a new generation of drivers now, Dirty Marcos is yestedays man. On a personal note, I'd be happy if he never came back here, the Yanks are welcome to him. And |

How about " Thanks Collin Bond & Garth Wigston for looking the other way" as a main sponsor. After all he did get some help from then in the 2003 C'ship "win" |

It would be great to see what happened... just like when Mr Mansell came back to F1... gives the fan something to cheer for Funny thing may be if Mr Murphy is SBR bound.. and Mr Ambrose uses the new chassis earmarked for him |

Could have been a real boon for the event in its inaugural year had it have come off, it is abit of farce that it was red tape only that stopped it. They seemingly had the driver, car & funding lined up, with a spare licence sitting there as well
From my point of view as a motor racing fan, Marcos Ambrose racing was far more likely to tempt me to attend the event than a bunch of bands like Cold Chisel or the Potbeleez making noise...... |

As has been mentioned though, he's not likely to be instant winner so this will provide plenty of ammo for the poor misguided Ambrose knockers, not that he would give a flying **** about that of course On the testing, I bet SBR would be jumping at the chance to get MA behind the wheel for a test day, the feedback from him would be invaluable - fantastic if SBR pull this off. |

Do Toyota give them enough money to have the power to make "phone calls" Have the marketing boys at Toyota Australia even mentioned Ambrose driving a Toyota once this year? do they care? do they know who he is? (This dissapointed me, Toyota Aus missed a great marketing opportunity this year) Why no phone call When he jumped into a Ford powered Grand AM two months ago? |

AFAIK he has no manufacturer ties in the USA that restrict him from doing anything elsewhere, but hey I could be wrong.
I think it'd be great to see him back and like any good racing driver why not race if given a good opportunity? |

So why did Toyota USA allow him to team up with a FORD driver, Driving a DALLARA FORD?? Maybe Toyota don't have a say in what he can drive outside of NASCAR So why delude yourself that Toyota Aus would make a phone call. If they had a vested interest in him fair enough, but they don't. Guess neither of us will know until the phone rings! |

Why would we need an appliance/white goods maker in V8 Supercars? The Camry Cardigan Challange perhaps? |

I don't think Marcos's NASCAR cup team is too worried about what he races. He's done the "Prelude to the Dream" in a Dirt Latemodel and had a practice in a Sprintcar plus the Grand Am deal.
Tony Stewart races LateModels at times plus the Prelude was full of all the top NASCAR guys. The variety of cars he's raced in the last few years which also included the trucks and nationwide cars probably has made him more adaptable to different racecars and tracks. I agree he's on a hiding to nothing but would be good to see. I would certainly be cheering for him. |

I appear to have offended you, sorry, but I dont share any one of your conclusions. Now my understanding of the advertising value of a Nascar may be scant, but is Camry on the front bumper ... who pays for that, my guess, only a guess is some sort of deal with a manufacturer, which one? IF it were Toyota, the Aus office might need to reference an international directory, a Toyota directory. Does an email seem appropriate suggesting Ford wins if Ambrose races? But I am deluded, Ambroses car is a Nascar who posts advertising so it doesnt look out of place ... the more advertising posted the lesser the racing budget ... please !! |
