Yes there is! Out of the paddock main gate and turn left. No actual path for the first bit but you can walk along the verge and the garage forecourt then cross over to the path. Round the bend then cross back over and down the steep hill into the village.
There is also a good pub the other way in Yatton Keynell but it's a nasty walk along a narrow road with bends and no footpath. Worth piling into a car though! Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk |

However in the dark you would likely need a very good torch. On the road route just a good torch. |

Last time I was in the Sally was a few years back eating with Colin McKay!
It's not as pleasant here at Forest Edge :-) Grant, that's why I didn't suggest the path LOL. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk |

Not relevant of course if not going into the village. In a daylight return trip for the village a couple of years back it turned out to be quite a bit quicker than the road route. Also extremely convenient. |

Back home in the pub . Great time at Castle Combe . Shame about the weather . I enjoyed this meeting good atmosphere with nice friendly staff . The 500 race started of dry and I dropped down to about 10 th . It then started to rain and I was able to catch up and pass a couple of cars . Then race was red flagged and cut short . Hey ho . Back to Zandvoort Wednesday . Wonder what the North Sea temp will be . 😉

The races at the 750MC meeting this afternoon were cancelled due initially to some torrential rain and an hour of thunder. As the afternoon wore on and the rain continued I assume it was still more than heavy enough to cause problems so the races were cancelled one by one as time ran out (starting with those doing a double header on Sunday) and eventually the entire afternoon was canned. Wise I suspect. It was both wet and rather dark. Would not have wanted to be out there marshalling or driving. |

Between qually and the races I managed to snap every series. Most with a soaking wet track, many also with sunshine. I have never seen so many rainbows in one day.
Spent the last few races watching from the car at Tower Some excellent grids and decent races, the Jag race being our pick. |

Despite the weather I really enjoyed this meeting too! Quail was during heavy rain, and mostly the game was about giving yourself enough cap in front to ensure some visibility! Ending up with my best laps at the end leaving it in top gear the whole way round ... what a simple way to go racing!
Between my sessions and in some lovely sunshine, I walked up to Quarry, taking a look in the 'display' tent and then at the car club stands on the way up there. Sat in the sun for 20 mins or so, enjoyed a very decent burger, and then strolled back! I thought that CCRC had done a very good job, with mixed bag of grids, and the displays etc. Credit to all concerned. Considering the weather forecast there was quite a reasonable crowd too I thought - hope so! The selection of grids also gave me the chance to catch up with some friends who rarely feature on the same race cards as me these days. As predicted the sun was replaced by a downpour resoaked the track before our race ... a good start, but annoyingly then boxed in on the run to Quarry, allowing my chief adversary to get away and a few to get by ... initially there was one line with respectable grip, but anywhere off it was slippery, but by mid race it started to rain again, and it was very slippy in many places, especially coming onto the straight before Camp, and then through Camp itself. I was a bit lonely to be honest, lonely enough that I actually had time to admire the rainbow over the paddock! Good fun, confidence building as I don't have much seat time in this car in such conditions, and netted some useful Championship points with 2nd in Class. Good fun. Thanks to Delta and Crew for assistance as always! |

Great pictures as usual Brands, did you get any of the pre war sports cars, (quali 1 and race 1), specifically a dark grey Riley, number 25? Hope so!
