santori should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I hope it happens but he said we'd have a South African GP by now.

i feel an indian GP can be steeped with magic and a good track can certainly lend itself to creating great history (which i feel the Bahrain track is certainly funding to create i.e. F3 superprix) however i feel the indian Gp can only be a gold star on the calender. After all who doesn't like a good curry? and the indian GP can only bring good feelings and mates together. Would it be north or southern india? they are rather different, or would it be mountainous or off in the flatter lands.
a country with history intertwined to western europe and a spectacular ad noble history of its own certainly gets a thumbs up from me.

It would be fantastic to have a race in India. But please, not at the expense of an existing track...

I would vouch for a mountain circuit in India.

how long before "Karthi" makes a pass on someone and Brundle quotes "theres a curry in a hurry"

I don't think Martin would say such a thing.

He values his job.

True...but there is a cola war on in India between Pepsi and Coke; as they are the guys who sponsor anything and everything in India; and one of the local airlines Sahara - they too are into sports in a big way; so, I guess there is no dearth of sponsorship in India. Even the crowds there are very sports-oriented. With lots of guys in software, and big money, ppl hold no reservations to spend on tickets (or anything for that matter)...there are a few racing stuff (local stuff), and they are extremely popular...F1 shud be a hit...atleast like Sepang there wud not be a need to give out tickets for free....
