If you really want to talk specifically about how much contact is in the racing and the good and bad of this then start another thread.
  • This will stop you having to type the same things you type every race.
  • This will allow discussion on the wider topic to have its own space and not be hampered by the race thread.
  • Equally it will allow discussion about the race to happen without getting ruined by the usual. Which is courteous to your fellow members.

Thank you, Adam, these "topics" has become exceedingly tedious especially so as it is highly unlikely that a change in the regulations and rules will permit either a stronger hub link or allow the previous "nudge to pass".

As a follower of both the other threads, I sincerely hope that they won't just become a place where repetitive posts saying the same, over and over again, etc.

Currently it looks as though there is going to be changeable weather for the BTCC cars, especially for tomorrow, They may just beat the rain for qualifying this afternoon.

Cammish speaking to Alan Hyde on the circuit comms said he's done for the weekend after a brake failure. Car needs a reshell.
A question.
If Doble had problems with brakes, and Cammish (after only 8 laps), and others have problems this afternoon, after a couple of drivers mentioned brakes fading being a challenge after the Goodyear test, is there a possibility of races being shortened like t Thruxton with the tyres a few years back?

Slightly strange: Excerl8 gets an engine change penalty but a 20 point deduction goes to Speedworks!

I know they've messed up the team there, but was the Halstead engine change driver points earlier this year after one, or two engine changes?

The brake wear is a new thing for drivers to talk about this season.

The reality is that it just evens out the amount of brake discs a team can throw on a car.

I don't think many teams would risk it. And if they did start to, I'm sure it would be very quickly cracked down upon by the stewards, with penalties upto and including exclusion from the meeting. As anyone who has ever put their road car in for an MOT will know, brakes (along with tyres) are the component that's examined most seriously.

Looks like George Jaxon (briefly in TCR UK) has moved to the Porsche Sprint Challenge, assume it’s the same person (18 seconds off pole…)

It's also very clearly a car problem, though quite why he completed so many laps is a bit of a mystery. He was off the pace in free practice on Thursday, but only to the extent of 2-3 seconds off the back of the field.
