Wow Helmet designs are amazing, but I think we should also talk about girlfriends and Vettel's car names as well. As long as it isn't about the on-track competition.

Love that helmet design, to me it looks pretty tongue-in-cheek about his image (dare I say "stereotype"?), which he appears to be playing up to more than ever.
I think he should be left alone a bit, he's only doing what many F1 drivers fail to do - which is to be himself. And at the end of the day...it's a sodding helmet. |

Jean-Eric Vergne's Monaco helmet design has a lot more taste (and respect).

Loving the massive Red Bull logo splashed all over that Cevert tribute.
Otherwise, very nice. Monaco always throws up the funky helmets, more bad than good unfortunately. My favourite was when Rubens Barrichello and Tony Kanaan swapped helmets for the Indy 500 and Monaco GP a few years ago. |

Although with Lewis there is of course the casual racism levelled at him, which is unfortunate. |

Hambo is paying tribute to the relationship he has with his good lady and his dog. Whilst the cartoon is not to my personal taste, I take Hambos gesture at face value.
JEV is poignantly remembering a fallen hero. That's good too. |

Have you seen Vettel's latest.
Apparently the bikini fades as the helmet heats up!! http://www.f1times.co.uk/gallery/display/7823 |

thats awesome!
dont know how accurate this is but BE is apparently not happy with Kimi's Hunt tribute helmet. seeing it as free advertising for the upcoming movie as opposed to seeing it as a tribute to F1's history sounds like a typical BE response. http://www.grandprix.com/ns/ns25503.html |

I presume there is some sort of commercial agreement between the Rush producers and the FIA and maybe Raikkonen is giving some unwanted free publicity to the film that isn't in that agreement.
That's the rationale. I'm not justifying it. If Bernie is causing a stink over it, that's petty and wrongheaded but typical Bernie. |

It is ridiculous, golden boy Vettel is allowed soft-core porn on his helmet, but Kimi is ordered to remove a tribute to a great champion. Maybe Limit should come out in qualifying with a big f you on top of his helmet. |

I think Will Buxton summed this up on twitter - why aren't they removing Lauda from the paddock? He's a walking advert for the film.

I know this is a bit overkill, but this probably upsets the women in motorsports. The helmet's screaming "women should be admired for their body only". It's just not classy - but I agree, Vettel can get away with murder in the F1 world. EDIT: I wouldn't be angry about this but that is just a blatant insult to Kimi and James Hunt. The fact that he can't wear a tribute helmet while Vettel can wear this is just outrageous. |
