Celia would it not be feasable to build a 2nd 1500cc engine on Webbers for use with CTCRC where its legal and just use the 1200 for away trips.

Al
It would, you'd probably want some diff ratios as well looking at CTCRC lap times I think the 1200 could compete mid field I agree with GOrdon though, its just not quite quick enough to be competitive enough to have wider appeal, which is a shame |

I applaud Celia for this, because she's doing exactly what we all should do and racing something she can afford and enjoy, rather than just going for out and out wins.

Very true. I only have a limited budget for racing so cut my cloth to suit. If not I'd be up there with the rest of you.

Presumably you're talking about the App K LCs and not the honest HRSR ones.

Hi Celia,
Glad to hear about your about Anglia project. I used to race my current car as a 1200 form 89 to 97 built to the appendix J? regs with a 28/36 weber carb and standard cast iron crank etc (even raced the hollow one for quite a while!), not massively quick but still great fun, and plenty to race with at the CTCRC, if I can be of any help, contact me from my CTCRC membership details or via the CTCRC forum, Nick Jones |

being 100% competitive is not the whole reason for racing, surely, if it were we'd all be racing Lotus Cortinas, and were would be the fun in that

As CTCRC allows the fitment of the Kent 1500 and twin webbers plus some lightened panels and plexiglass you could be very competitive out with us Zef with your knowledge of the marque. You know you want to! BTW I believe you would also be in a different class to the LC's.

Sorry Al, lightened panels not allowed in Classics and Historics, (except maybe in class G?) so steel wings, bonnet, boot and doors but can use perspex windows, it's the Post Historics that allow fibreglass wings because they're hard to get hold of apparently ( you try getting a pair of steel Anglia wings this side of a King's Ransom!)

Would n't do that Gordon unless you need the cash, as soon as you shift them do you're bound to stuff one of yours next time out, and besides, they're much better than money in the bank nowadays!
