That is true. That mazda coupe has had a checkered past when it comes to reliability. And it sounds like they are actually going to be running the car that burned and was repaired instead of their 2nd chassis. |

ALMS twitter reported earlier that Memo Gidley is in for Pickett in the Cytosport car. Definitely makes them a contender for the win if their pit work and reliability hold together
VERY slow times thus far... I'm leaving for California tomorrow, can't wait to be at the track Saturday, first ALMS race in person since Portland 2005. |

the Cytosport Spyder was tops on the timing sheets by more than half a second over the Intersport Lola. Times were slow due to cold weather.
Jag did 24 laps and wasn't slowest in GT. |

Don't believe so tux, I think live streaming of qualifying wasn't part of the ToDo Cast deal the ALMS put together. That will however, remain a regular feature of SPEEDtv broadcast weekends.

Speaking of diet cars, the BMW and Vettes have both lost some kilos for this round, and I expect them to both be tough here. Remember how close the Vette was to winning the race last season..... |

Good to see Van Overbeek with good time up front in GT2.
Well done to Guy Smith. |

It's a bit premature to slap smaller restrictors on that Lola-Mazda. Laguna Seca is hardly a power circuit. Neither is Lime Rock, and the only place such an advantage would show at Mid Ohio is on the back straight. Miller will be skewed in favor of Dyson, Intersport, and Autocon, because the other prototype runners don't have turbos, and forced induction helps at high altitude.
I'd say the extra weight the car was carrying has brought on this change, because now they can actually show how well this car handles. |

And that is why it will get slapped with a smaller restrictor or get that weight back, IMSA have been almost as bad as the FIA have with the GT1 lately with changing restricteors and weight each race.

I don't think Highcroft's ARX-01c will be ready until before they have to head for Le Mans-Strakka withdrew their car part way through the Spa LMS round because of a lack of spare body panels. Last edited by chernaudi; 22 May 2010 at 02:20. |
