Parfitt, Smelt, Geddie over 5 seconds off pole... Butel and Hamilton nearly 7 seconds!!
Great to see Cook, Ingram and Butcher still up there, and Hill should've been higher up too, so hopefully less of a two-horse race this year, Quickest CUPRA in 15th... Disappointed by Chilton and Lloyd, a lot further down than expected. |

dunno if plato thought he was being edgy but if someone did that to him he’d be putting them in the hedge tomorrow. guess he wins, we’re talking about him again...

Is there a way to watch back the qualifying sessions? I was out and about and I missed them.

An excellent qualifying session there, although I only managed to catch some of it. Interesting that the RWD cars looked so strong on a predominantly FWD circuit, and in the wet. Great effort by all of the top drivers.

No real surprises at all on the grid.

Full wet usually suits the RWDs, and also evens out some of the FWD advantage at this circuit.

He blocked Hill, I think it was, when he was on a really hot lap right at the end of qualifying at the chicane when he, Plato, intended to enter the pits. It was very unsporting of him, and I hope that he is given a grid penalty for it. |

Great first session. Those last few minutes as the track dried were really exciting. Well done Sutton and good job from Cook and Turkington and great start by Tingram. Edwards also managed to get in the top 20, so well done her. Of course due to the conditions we can’t draw too many conclusions
And yes I thought Plato was quite out of order blocking Hill like that |

sort of sets the scene for the season doesn’t it. |

If Plato was on a Hot lap why did he claim to be pulling into the pit road.? Not the first time he has done this. Rocking ham with Matt Neal. The mark of a desperate man past his sell by date I reckon

Exactly, pretty disappointing that such a behaviour is not penalised. And also a bit pathetic that one of the most successful drivers of the championship (at least on paper) acts like an amateur!

She was in the top 10 for a while. The track was seemingly getting quicker at the end of the session, when she went off track so she didn't improve when lots of others did - so she might have been higher up. Still 17th is not too bad - especially when you see how many race winners qualified behind her.

it was a pity jade binned it, she's not exactly had a lot of track time in the car so she's done a decent job being a way ahead of the folk at the back of the grid who are pretty much exactly who we were expecting.

anyhow. it's a great grid which is either mixed up because of the weather or going to set the tone for the rest of the season i think ingram and cook both provoke the same question - is the car they're in actually very good or are they both just very good drivers? |

That compromised the last sector time so Plato got a very late call to box as he approached the chicane. Looking at the TSL data it looks like Hill wasn't as badly compromised and could have improved his time slightly but I doubt Plato or his team thought about that. As Plato said there was nothing malicious about it. It's just a sad reflection on modern society that people always jump to the most damning reasoning for why something has happened rather than looking for other reasons. |

I'm here, don't worry!! Surprised she's quite so high up, though think a few are out of position behind her. Not sure what she was thinking on that grass.
