Holden would have to be thinking seriously about how much value they are getting from their big salary drivers Tod Kelly has shown by his crash and bash tactics that he has little respect for the first class equipment he is supplied .
What the hell was Rick Kelly thinking when he got tangled up with Tander at Bahrain cerainly not the team or that Holden need to win the championship especially after the hiding they got at Bathurst . If I was in Charge of the Holden Budget I would try to poach Steve Johnson especiall if the rumours about the financial stability of DJR have any credibility Grab Lee Holdsworth team him with Garth for Toll and Steve Johnson and Mark Skaife in the Red team . |

6.213 - great analysis. I can state without any hesitation that i have never been a Mark Skaife fan. Probably due to his strike rate over the last decade - a prolific winner, no-one can question that.
Booting him from HRT, whilst giving snappy Tom ultimate control of 'his' team, will no doubt leave a yawning hole in HRT/HSV's arsenal. Snoz Skaife on his day is still one of the very best (unfortunately). Great qualy lap at Bathurst, terrific form at Eastern Creek. Question if, if he does go, would there be anyone better that could improve over what Mark can do at his peak, and improve his sorting abilities. Probably not. HRT doesnt appear to be the sort of team that goes through a 'rebuilding process'. |

I think when Skaife goes, he should retire from driving. It would be a sad end to his career to see him running around mid-pack in another team with little hope of improvement. If he wants to stay involved maybe he should think about team ownership. As far as Todd Kelly is concerned, I wonder if he is about to get a taste of "the real world" outside of a comfortable factory team.

Maybe you'll see Todd at JDR next year, and a new team mate for Skaife?
If they want a bit of a shake up, surely Skaife is worth keeping for a while yet. But, you're only as good as your last race so they say.... But they should really be looking at putting Tander in the marque team. JDR might be a good fit for Todd, and I think Perkins needs atleast 1 experienced driver too. |

As for Todd to JDR, that's probably a good suggestion and a good fit for Todd and JDR IMO. Todd doesn't have the pressure to perform there. Skaife probably does deserve to stay with HRT, he's more than just a quick driver and I don't think he's the task master some claim otherwise he would have been out the door sooner - you don't get success if the team isn't happy and HRT have enjoyed great success with Skaife at the helm. |

Also as Skaife is still a 50% owner of HRT if he did go to another team that team would be grouped to HRT the same as FPR and Britek were when Brighty was driving for FPR. |

[quote=SSbaby]Is HRT the marque team? Not at the moment they're not. I believe Tander should stay where he is - the best driver in the best team - he is working well with his engineer.

I dare say Big Pete would not have been introduced to computers during his era. I believe carbys ruled during that era. Data acquisition... it's a powerful science. |

Uncle Tom playing favourites with equipment is a theme that keeps repeating itself.
Retribution for not sticking to the script during the ownership white wash, perhaps? |

Skaife could drop down to the Fujitsu V8 Supercars series in the new TWR team with A.Tratt & have a New Driver to hop in Skaifey's seat
